From what I've found, it was built early 70s. There were a lot of mind-altering substances available back then, or so I'm told .

I wouldn't call it awful. That was the game in the show rod world and that game lasted more than a decade. I've seen a whole lot worse. Hemi? Check. Blower? Check. Spindle mounts? Yup. Fat tires on mags? Check-check. It would be better without that silly padded top but I get it. Would I want it? Oh fuck no...

 

Show Rod! and one I've never seen before. I like it, just send it to me and to Quote Anthony Myric - "I'd Drive it!

 

I think I seen it before but not quite in that configuration.

 

Ok, this is the one I was thinking of, not sure if it is the same or not with modifications. Maybe both built by the same guy or maybe one influenced the other .

Never seen that one but it's typical of the show rods of that era. I used to go to the Michigan State Fairgrounds in the eighties and nineties and there would be a car corral with crazy show cars from the seventies for sale. It almost seemed like they were stashed away for a decade in local garages and then put up for sale. More often than not they were in very bad condition and in some cases were being parted out for their engines and such. Usually something like this.

 

There is nothing that flows on it.

The windshield frame design draws off of nothing nor is it shared with anything else. The radiator just kind of sticks up out of nowhere. The padded top looks like an after thought....

Right on all counts and for sure not exactly how I would build it but, "I'd Still Drive it!"

 

It would make a good parts car through that duck bill nose and the body away and you mite have some good parts. looks like it has a chrome front and rear end and who doesn't want a hemi

 

Just shows how tast changes over the years. Somethings endure, some dont.

I suspect a lot of "show" cars get recycled when they have done the rounds.

 

That car has a lot going on…just can’t figure out where it was all headed.

 

Needs more cow bell.

 

Remove that roof and putting a rectangular windshield on there would improve it a lot. I like if for what it is. It would be great to see it in color.

 

I like it, except for the blower not being real.

I would rectify that, and then drive it.

 

Yea. I noticed that, there is no drive on the front, thought my eyes were playing games with me.

 

I’m still looking for the foxy lady in the pic. What a let down…

Looks like three drunk dudes cleaned out all the loose parts in their shops and bolted them all together.

 

That front is reminiscent of Donald Duck.

There's a really good chance that the motor didn't have any internals in it. They didn't always have to run.

 

Kinda reminds me of this one.

 

I FOUND IT! That car is the X-TEE-C. It was built by Dave Puhl for Marty Hahnfeld and it won Rod Sweepstakes award at the 1966 Indianapolis show.

 

Is the photo shown the first and only version of it? I liked that crazzy stuff but glad the Show Only Rod phase passed. When it comes to T's in general this has to be the Best of the Best in my view. We all know these 2 got driven and driven hard. That said, give me Marty Hahnfel's piece and yes, "I'd Drive It!"
