Sorry man, nobody here is into rat rods so you'll struggle to find a serious answer to your question. But the real answer is that it depends on dozens of variables. Without knowing some more details of your build or what you are hoping to achieve it is a bit like "how long is a piece of string?"

Probably your best bet would be to use the search function on here and do some reading. There is more than enough info on here to set you in the right direction.

Pete and Jakes ladder bars. If you are using coils, you will need a panhard bar. If you are using a stock style cross spring, that will locate the axle side-to side.

Have it all welded by a certified welder (do NOT ignore this advice).

Don't use foul language on this board.

On the first thread I thought he just didn't know and would come back and correct his errors, but now he posts again and does the same thing. We like to help people but I am getting the impression ole Barnes is just playing around.

Thanks for the advice. Didn't know about the language and since I'm new to building I'm new to forums so the second post was because I didn't know the first one had sent.

  12. Welcome. The foul language are the words r*t rod. Why don't you build a nice hot rod instead? Stick around here a while, hopefully you'll change your mind about the RR thing. You can learn a lot here and most folks will be willing to help you, but we don't do rat rods, only hot rods. It's the difference between building something traditionally cool or a cobbled together piece of shit.
