Hot Rods frame is 38..title is 38 chevy....BUT????

    There are two tags located on the passenger side firewall. The upper one has the model; Deluxe or Special Deluxe and thecvehicle serial number which starts with the series letters - GB or GA in ‘37. The lower tag is the style plate that indicated info as far as body style, trim and paint number codes.

    Many states would use engine numbers as identification before the standardized VIN system was introduced. Using engine numbers can cause lots of problems for registration now. Just my experience.

    I had one and plenty of parts years ago . I did not know 38 -39 was wider than 37 . I had a coupe and also an extra sedan frame seems as remember the 38 frame was dimpled slightly on the sedan to clear the gas filler neck

    As someone with very little knowledge about the 37 and 38 Chevy cars, what parts were fiberglass? Nice car.
