thank you for your input koz, i really think grafting the front on is a good idea, and my fabricating abilities are very good, most times too good as i overbuild everything so it doesnt break, it will all be chamfered, preheated for great penetration, and it will be fishplated very well, prolly more fishplating than most would do. i think this is the best option for the look im going for.
Excellent! If you want to check out some of my fab work search "Koz Roadster", the blue '31 with the Brookville body. That frame was made of press bent .125 using homemade offset dies and origional front and rear crossmembers with a fabbed X member that resembled a '35 type but accepted the '39 trans and '40 rear. I punched all the factory holes in the new rails including the ones I didn't use and rivited all the crossmembers in. The frame is only boxed from the cowl back where you can't see from the street. The result is a factory looking frame that is super square and looks like a mint origional. A lot of work to make it look like a swap meet find, but a lot of fun to build.
