Framerail dimensions

Quick question before I'm off to class: Does anyone know offhand the dimensions of the C-channel used to make Model A, Essex and/or late-20s GM/Mopar frames? I'm envisioning maybe 2x4? Thanks.

 

Okay, maybe you don't know them offhand - can you at least find out for me?

 

I dont know about the rest but the thickest part of an "A" frame is about 4" but it tapers to both ends.Hope that helps.....
