Was given their name but nothing else, anyone here ever deal with them. would like to know a bit more before I ship my grille back across the Canadian border. TIA
Zapato I have not delt with them personally but I have heard they do very nice work. I dont live to far from them so I could stop by and check them out for you if you want. I will check on a local board here for you. Joe
Try Atomic Plating. Good guys to deal with. They are in Vancouver as well or somewhere in that vicinity
I am also in need of some plating (on Model A bumpers). Can you tell me what you learned about Fraser River Plating? I live a little south of the border, so it would be an easy solution for me. Thanks, Norm.
I've used them a couple of times. Good plating and prices way less than having it done locally. The only problem with sending parts across the border is there is little recourse for lost or damaged parts. It comes down to how valuable the core is before you decide to send it to them. I've also used Victoria plating on Vancouver Island. My dad hand delivered my perfectly straight 33 ford grille while he was on vacation to check out if they were on the up and up. They plated the grille for $550 cdn, which at the time was about $380 us. That was in the late 90's though. I had quotes for $1200 locally. Also make sure the parts are as straight as you can get them. I later had them do a GTO aircleaner and they plated right over the dings that were in it. If I would have known, I would have spent some time on it. Dave
Pacific is used by most of the guys up here, Action and Superior are good also. I go to Superior because it's close to my place, they have always done a good job.
I havn't used them myself, but I phoned a couple of fellow rodders who have. They raved about the quality & great service.I regularly detail their rides, both top notch cars, and value their opinions.
Zap, I will check with my buddies in my old club in Mission, just across the river from Abbotsford where the plater is and see what they have to say. I haven't lived there in a while, so am out of the loop rite now. A friend of mine used to own Fraser Valley Plating. He sold it not that long ago. Pat.
Zap, check your PM,s. I talked to my buddy and we think the best thing would be to send it to him in Mission. He will deliver it to the shop, which he says is doing nice plating, and can pick it up and check it out for you before it goes back. Pat.
Fraser Valley Plating has become the only place to go to if you want outstanding chrome. We are a very small shop and the only way we can compete with the big shops is to have the best quality. Most of our customers build 1/4 to 1/2 million dollar cars. They have been using us exclusively! Our customer base goes from The Vacouver Model "A" club to $200,000 one off custom bike builder "Trick Factory Customs", who also compete in Biker Build-Off's, to Pyramid Street-rods and Customs in Washington state, who no matter how much money you have, you'll wait 2 1/2 yrs. for them to start to build a car for you! That's how backed up they are. I see other plating shops have been talked about in this thread, we've had very upset customers come in that had just dealt with a couple of them and wanting us to fix their stuff that the other shops had done. You really have to be careful who you take your stuff to, I call them "butchers". I have specialized in only custom car parts for over 26 years, and we have one of the best platers I've ever worked with. In 26 years, I'm finally happy at what goes out our doors, and believe me, I'm fussy!! Our customers must be happy too, because we are one of the only shops around that are busy this time of year. So...I hope this gives you a little bit of an idea who Fraser Valley Plating are. You are more than welcome to come down and look around, talk to the guys and see our finished product. We'd love to have you as a regular customer too!! Merry Christmas to you all!!!
