Great Idea. Always like seeing your stuff whether its on cable TV or in the mags. I wish I could say that I need your 2 link kit for my 51 Ford Victoria but I am sure that someone else needs it more than I. I have attached a pic of my chopped victoria. Its a short roof chop and the proportions look the balls. This is my second of three shoebox projects. The first I sold to Luke of Kustoms Illustrated and it is now in CA after being an East Coast car all of its life. The third shoebox I just sold to a fellow HAMBr to fund the vic project. Best of luck to the other shoebox guys and thank Jimenez Bros.
Here's a couple of pictures of mine, got the car when i was 16 (was 100% stockl) as my first car (I'm 22 now)....I'm currently putting a 425 nailhead with 4 speed... chopped 5" in front 6" back, studebaker fins, relocated gas fill in trunk, 55 chevy headlights, molding meteor grill shell, rounded hood corners, 55 chrysler grill, 58 plymouth savoy sidetrim, kaiser overrider in back, and all the usual nosed, decked shaved. since this picture was taken i put dropped spindles (along with the already cut coils) so its at least 2 1/2" lower in the front with the spindles and the new motor.(car sits level) but the rear is sitting on the frame(needs notch) still a lot more work to be done...hopefully it can be ready for paint in a few years...
Heres mine. I got it a few years ago then decided to take a risk and use it as a guinea pig and chop it. Now I dont think i will be able to sell it anytime soon i just love how it came out and its just a great/fun driving car! So far I chopped it 3.5 inches, grafted 56 olds headlights, peaked the hood, shaved door hands and other trim, put 58 ford sidetrim on it, 53 chevy grill shell, 56 chrysler grill, I recently (not shown in picture) narrowed and v'd a 56 plymouth front bumper and used it on the front, lowered the crap out of it with droppped spindles/dropped spindles and lowered leafs. Its still awaiting 54 merc tail lights and shaved gas filler door and a nice deep, dark purple paint job! I would also like to BuEnoS NOtch it!
Here is a shot of mine. Check out the custom console !! That 2 link will get me down where I want this car to be!
Oh man thats awesome! thanks for offering this up! thats amazing generosity! heres mine, 1950 its mostly plain jane more door. with the flathead! the wife and kids bought it while i was away on the road. it looks better about 20 feet away, i've got aerostar coils, and 2'' blocks in the back. i've replaced wiring, parts pieces odds end ends, mostly mechanical. slowly making it my own. like most of us with our projects any little nickel and dime gets pinched for that special project. good luck to all! Raf when they got it home after the blocks after grinding on the bumpers getting the silly paint off, filling in the holes and getting the base cops called on me for making too much noise.... luckily for me i knew the guy it pays to treat everyone with respect....!
Can I play too - going to get a Carson top and more! Never mind the stack of crap inside - you know how cars quickly become "catch all bins" Needs lowered badly. ...
Here's mine. Five inch chop in the front, six in the back. Will be lowered all around with a slight rake. Wide white walls and sombreros.
ill jump in my shoebox just about rot free now http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=198049
Gonna have to builld a frame anyways. Might as well have some cool product to start with. It's not gonna be chopped, but it will have some custom mods done to it. most likely a slight frenched headlight treatment. dual 51 taillignts on each side., and dropped low in the back. simple but noticable.
here's the 51 my uncle and i are starting, its been in the family since 55 and is begging for something, anything custom. an altitude adjustment is just what it needs
Mine. I'm content with the suspension I have now, but I can't resist putting up pictures when there's a gathering of shoeboxes:
Glad you did. Stunning shoebox. Lots of good looking chops on here too. Are there any un-chopped tudors left?
