My sincere apologies to anyone that may have gone to Don Moyers trailer for the Friday night concert. I was working on Nexxussian's Berkeley, then hitched a ride to the Bend with Dave Tatum's wife. We were deep in conversation and dodging traffic, when we apparently drove right by the trailer. She dropped me off at the corner and I spent the next hour and a half wandering the area. I found a half dozen Airstreams, but not the Avion. I got a ride on a dune buggy and we looked everywhere (except where Don was). Finally I hopped a ride into town with the couple who have the medium green (and ultra clean) A-bone roadster (all of this while packing my camera gear, extra clothes and guitar, while wearing my filthy crew clothes). Upon arrival at the Motel 6, I run into Bob K, who tells me where Don's trailer was.
The next morning, we drive by where Bob told me the trailer was and sure enough, it's in plain sight! Doh! I feel pretty embarassed about this, but mostly I feel real bad for anyone who may have actually showed up. I apologize to you folks and of course, to Don Moyer. This is my first ever "no show" and I'm not proud of it.
Bob K and his pal Jeff J gave me a ride to Nebraska in the '52 Chevy (15 hours straight, at full song, with Jesus dancing all over the dash). I'm now at Rocky's, recovering with the help of some intense therapy. We took in the local cruise tonight and that was helpful.
The only thing I can do about this is try to make it up at Joplin. I'll give it my best.
Again, my apologies to anyone that wasted precious Salt Time on this fiasco.
