Well, after many years of skulking around in the corners without a flashlight I thought I should step up and sign up. So I did. I am new to participating in the whole forum concept but have read The Rules and will do my best. A little bit about me- I spent my youth scraping by with no tools and even less money. Honest to God guys, I have dumpster dived the local muffler shop at night to scrounge up a matching pair of mufflers for one of my heaps. My first car was a very nice '65 Galaxie which I promptly trashed. All the childhood shit - glass packs, air shocks and a hole in the floor for a crappy 3 speed Indy shifter. I didn't own a drill or saw, but i had a sharp chisel and a BMFH......The next one I can talk about was a '55 Ford pu with a tilt front end, 9" and TH350. Bought two 327's in boxes. Salvaged the best parts, sold the rest to buy rings, bearings and gaskets. Ran one of the old oil pumps to. For a week...... The interim years were a haze of work, partying till the cows came home, marriage, kids and divorce. Once the dust settled and I regained my equilibrium, focus and a little cash, the fire came back to life and I now have a great shop, a great wife and several acceptable autos. Currently in the line up is a 1941 Tudor Sedan. Been my steady for over 25 years. A 1961 F100 Unibody also shares garage space with it. In the barn is a 1936 5 window Chevrolet coupe and 1941 2 ton Ford truck. I have enough tools to be dangerous (still have the hammer and chisel!) and am not afraid to use them although my skill level is far below what I have witnessed here. Quite frankly some of the best concepts and craftsmanship I have ever seen, I have seen here. Gobsmacked and blown away on a regular basis. I spent forty years as a peddler, and one of the things I learned was that one should always bring trinkets when meeting new people and trying to figure out where you fit in. To that end I have a small pile of used and/or surplus parts I will gladly share. Mostly just looking to trade for other stuff or give it away to those who can use them. I'll post them in the Classifieds in the near future. In closing, "Thanks" for all the information, vicarious pleasures and solutions to problems I have received . I'm looking forward to the next lap around the sun.

Welcome to the Hamb, You sound like a lot of us growing up and building hot rods with nothing but determination! HRP
Thanks for making me feel at home. I can't promise much in the growing up department. I am old enough to know better and young enough to try again!
