Been doin a little more work on the wagon and rolled it out to clean the shop...so I took a couple of pics for those who are interested! I cleaned off all the paint from the beltline up and modified the rear shackles so they didn't bind, painted new whitewalls, had some Swanx help pull off the old trim and still not sure if I will be putting it back on. Gonna paint the roof shiny but suede the body for this season anyway!
I love wagons. I vote you don't put some wacky custom paint job on it......that way, when your crazy friend knocks the door into a metal cart corral at Target, you don't chase her around the parking lot in a fit of rage while your wife screams at you using your FULL name.
So you're saying Mac wanted to kick your ass for screwing up his car...or am I reading too much into your post HAHAHA!! I'm thinking Candy orange would be awesome...but initially I am just finishing the top as AJ will be driving this car alot...he's only 15 right now...so I expect some dings and hopefully no major crashes!
Ah nope. He planted his foot in my ass plenty over that one. Renee just died laughing because I NEVER slam doors, knock doors or scrape them on curbs.............then I went and put a chip in the back door of that Expedition. I blame his crazy ass driving skills that made me slow witted. Ford makes a killer neat burnt orange now that they've been putting on their F series trucks.
lookin great man. here's my "constructive criticism". pinner whites! my eye is drawn to those ballons on the raders, not the nice custom bodywork. IMHO they are kinda goofy lookin. second, score some sedan doors and turn that sucker into a two door wagon! it will make all the difference in the world, people notice.
I don't think I'd turn it into a fake handyman. They look cool as shit, but I think since this car is for a teenage boy and his friends are gunna wanna cruise with him, a two door car will be REALLY awkward..........BESIDES, his boys are big enough to roll Brewsir up into a ball.
Ray...I have pinner whites on the inside if I get tired of the fat whites....but I kinda dig the look. I think once the bodywork is done and it's a solid color they should look a little less fat! I don't want to 2 door it for just the reason Brandy said...my kid is a freshman...3 more years of fun in HS and giving cheerleaders rides!!! The tires are 205/75/15....walmart's cheapest! Krylon fusion satin white.
Don't think I for got about that shit. I got a filero waiting for you when I see you next. I'm gonna take some of that paint off of your body as payment for that one!!
man, when i was in school, all the other dorks who rode with me had to figure out for themselves how to get their asses through the door on the OTHER side of the car, wasn't MY problem! the cheerleaders never rolled with me! okay, here's a compromise, one door on the drivers side, two doors on the passenger side!
Brewsir, I met you at a Swanx Meet back in April of this year, and I remember you talking about this car. I just wanted to say that is is turning out so flippin' cool man, I just graduated highschool and had my '56 Buick wagon since my freshman year, and beleive me, it being a four door is way worth it! If the back seat folds down in the car, that is where trouble comes, Dads tend to get mad when you show up to drop off their little girl in an old wagon with the back seat down and foggy windows...but thats another story... Anyways, Car looks Amazing, and it is cool to see your helpin out your boy with this car, My Dad did the same and I couldn't imagine doing highschool without the buick... Tell your kid to have plenty of fun with it!! -Brent
Shit you'll need a sander to take the paint off of this ugly body! I slather my bondo on with a PUTTY knife..........or I'll just tell Renee.
I didn't cut the one for this car yet,but I did a windshield for a 56 ford with a 4 in. chop a couple of weeks ago and it worked out tits!!
BIG ? Windhield is no problem I got that. The curved side rear glass could be sunk into the quarter panels so they look cut but how ya gunno do the back hatch glass???? Plexiglass or ? I beleive they are tempered not laminate therfore cant be cut but what the hell do I know. Ltr Dave
the chop proportions look good.how many inches did you take out of the "A" pillars?and where are cutting the windshield?top or bottom?I'm really interested because I'm gonna be puttting a new top on my nomad and getting the itch to cut it a little
That thing looks better every time you post pics. I really like the elimination of the vent windows. Really cleans up the side, lets the door glass match.
