might want to think twice about having the state look at your truck... They might flag your truck off the road (rightyfully so), but if they're anything like NH you will have to get it reinspected by the DOT, which isn't too friendly with frame modifications and air ride. They black flagged one of my buddies trucks a few years back so he could never register it in NH again.

That is some funny stuff right there.

I'm on here, so's my boss. We are builders, and we agree, these guys need to be put out of business before they kill someone.

DO NOT drive the truck until it has been fixed, and/or until after the court date. Not only is it damned dangerous, you doing so could be used against you, as evidence that you don't believe that it is unsafe.

Josh found the H.A.M.B because I called the shop and said check your email and there was a link to this thread. I said look what people are saying about your work. Their response was "THATS WHY WE DONT GO ON THE HAMB ITS A BUNCH OF GUYS WHO THINK THEY KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING AND WE ARE BUILDERS" something along those lines.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!! These guys should have to register as fab offenders, never to be allowed within 200 ft of a mig welder again!

Just wanted to update everyone. A B.A.R (bureau of automotive repair) rep is coming at 10:30 am tommorrow to inspect my truck. He watched the youtube videos and checked this forum and is shocked Sik Fabrications did this and thought it was acceptable. He is in the Riverside division which is near the shop and is investigating them as we speak. He is coming to write a report and take pictures and this will be the nail in the coffin for my court case.

I'm glad the ABAR rep. is coming by to look at your truck personally! I hate it this has happened to you but a look on the bright side might be, by bringing attention to what this shop has done, maybe the next person who was going to get some work at this shop will think twice about it!

Awesome!!! Sad that the guys at SIK are so pig headed and could of resolved the whole situation a lot easier and cheaper by doing the right thing and returning a portion of the money.

If they have no money available to make the refund and the business is going south, they probably don't care if it goes to court. More than likely this isn't the only problem that they have on their doorstep.

Bottom line, if they have no money, a judgement for Blake84 isn't going to help any.

Wow! I spent most of my lunch reading this thread. I am sorry that you are going thru this. I am sure all will go well for you in court. Hopefully the shop has cash to send your way to have your truck fixed. Once you get the suspension corrected you will have a nice truck.

If they don't have any money I'm sure they have shop equipment that is worth something.

A rep from the Bureau of automotive repair came out and viewed my vehicle and was just as shocked as everyone else when he saw the set up. He took photos and pointed a lot of things out I didn't even notice. I have steel braided brake lines that need to be DOT approved also when I raise and lower the suspension it kinks the brake line. He over all said I'd advise you to NOT drive this vehicle. He said next step he will go to the shop with pictures in hand and his first question he is going to ask is, "WHAT THE HELL WERE YOU THINKING". Also, the process server got back to me today and he was served personally with the lawsuit at 11:58 am.

Over all great day. On another note......I tinkered a little after work on the truck. any advice on someways to make engine look nicer and neat besides what I did. I want to make it look nice and neat......is love to redo wiring and paint fire wall but I'm not sure if there are any tips and tricks for making the engine look nicer..

Wow Blake the upgrades look nice!! Do the same thing to the engine block, New wires will make a difference too, and clean and re-route the other wiring and wrap it with 3m Super 88 black tape!

new fuel filter, and rubber lines are inexpensive also!

I'd be getting the rear setup redone as well. If it wasn't over notched, they wouldn't need that massive spacer.

You didn't even FINISH the tie rod end, it has a HOLE!!!!! You are putting lives at risk.. I just shuddered watching all the vehicles on you're site thinking of all the unsuspecting people that paid for you're shotty work.. This is why I do everything myself, I have been screwed by EVERY mechanic I have dealt with.. I personally don't give a shit what it looks like the second time, after we "fix it"..

on a side note that engine bay is starting to look killer

Here's my question... How can you do something for 8 years and still deserve be hung and shot for your incompetence?

If they let me do brain surgery for 8 years I would probably be half decent at it...

Im with Chaddilac on what needs to be done in the bay, all black, or vintage cloth leads would look spot on, with all black tape/hoses/clips etc...avoid yella and red parts, LOL
Also, since you have time off the road, how about splittin the exhaust manifold? and then polish it?

What is that foil in the firewall doin?

  25. The tie rod thing annihilates me... looks like something they took off a figure-8 stock car they had sittting out back. That was the first thing I saw in the original set of pictures.

The foil on the fire wall is a temporary patch for holes that are in the firewall and were making the cab smell like fumes. Eventually I will pull engine out re wire, paint engine bay a nice fresh coat of flat black. Clean the engine while it is out and put a nice fresh coat of flat black on the engine. De will not have red or yellow accent colors. I will probably do black and chrome. I'll get some nice chrome bolts and maybe a chrome oil filte cover etc. I just want to open the hood and see a clean engine. Nothing super fancy. I wish I knew how to re wire vehicle with all new clean wiring. That would look great. Until then I'll probably wrap the wires

Look into a painless wiring kit. Pretty cheap, SUPER easy to install since all wires are labeled. I believe Rebel wiring has kits too, and they are an Alliance vendor so that's probably an even better way to go. Good instructions and some patience and you can have all fresh wiring, modern fuses and peace of mind.

WIRING QUESTION............What kind of wire do I need to buy to use for the basic wires in the engine. All the small thin ones in the engine I would like to cut ad new wire and reroute them. will it have any effect cutting and adding the new wire?

No..but if you aren't familiar or experienced with wiring from scratch. Buying a harness with a fuse block will be money really well spent.

  30. Blake, Erik is right, if you don't know wiring, buy a complete kit. Saves time and headaches. Have you thought about painting the engine and engine bay in factory colors? Just curious. It looks like your "case" is looking up.
