Was looking on my shelves the other night at my models and pickup this one up to check it out. Then earlier this week was reading Von Tingler's post on the art display and saw his Fairlane monster art piece and thought he may like to see this model. A lot of work in this one, so I won't describe how I did it! Geoff aka Whodaky
Here in Victoria we have a big open air show, called John's Rod and Custom Picnic. At this show there is a model display. Every year for this I do a couple of pieces to be given away to the entrants. One I award as my choice and the other goes to the youngest modeler. The last few years I have been painting up these el cheapo tool boxes. From what I have been told they are much sort after by those who enter. Geoff aka Whodaky
OK, here is the last one from me for the week. I did this for a friend's 40th birthday a number of years ago. Geoff aka Whodaky

[ QUOTE ] Wow it looks like your tool box is haulin *** through your yard freagin sweet [/ QUOTE ] HAHA!!!!! Finished this one up Tuesday (started the previous Friday) Note the "gas tank" Whodaky, than Ranchero is BEAUTIFUL. I tried figuring out what you did to it, but I'm stumped. Looks like the '61 Ranchero *** end and roof grafted onto a galaxie...am I close??

Cute lil modified K&R. Thanks I thought you guys would like the phantom Ranchero. The b pillars, tops of quarters, tailgate were all cut off the '61 Ranchero, in one piece. Then it was all grafted onto the Revell Thunderbolt. A lot of preliminary measuring took place and from this I realised I had to chop the top to get the Fairlane roof to work with the ranchero rear window. The body has also been sectioned around 1/8". This was taken from the bottom of the sills and the front fenders were cut along the trim line and moved up. It was this section job that really gave the model a sleek look. Before that it looked quite 'fat' in the body. Geoff aka Whodaky
My addition for this week. textured bathroom tile washed with thinned black and wiped off, let dry, then striped with red. Great show so far, got me wanting to dust off my modeling skills.
Thought I'd do something different this week:feature some pics of works of other artists.I either have these or have taken photos of them. First one is a painting of my dog done by Dave Knoderer aka,"Letterfly" who spent the day at my shop Monday.A great guy and a greater artist!I stripe-flamed his paint stool in exchange but unfortunately didn't get any pics of it. I'll label the others as I go along as they are ****tered through my do***ent file and it takes some time to find them(I have a couple thoousand images in there).
A mural painted on the shutter ****on of my wife's camrea by Johnny Ray Price of Dayton Ohio(What makes this piece remarkable is Johnny only has one eye! and the detail is unbeleivable).
Well, it's not mine but it is hanging in my gallery. Keith Weesner sent this one up. Pastel on paper. YOO WHOO Jeff where are you...And has anybody seen or heard from Johnny and Kali?
A couple more...I forgot an exhaust, so fabbed one up real quick, and "upholstered" (painted ) the top.
Wow! great Art Show already. I love models and modeling and what's been shown are fantastic. Every thing is looking good. I've been slowly working on some of my POS panels the last couple of weeks and not being able to complete any. Anyway, I took a couple of in progress shots just so I could participate. The pics turned out like **** but, I'll take better shots when their done. The first are two panels that have a Imitation Gold first color and one got a Emerald Green second color and the other got Purple w/ a little White mixed in. When their dry I will add a third color to each of them. They are striped on some PVC black s**** plastic. Joel
This POS panel is larger than the others and has 1Shot's Medium Gray as the first color and Purple lightend w/ White as a second. It too will have a third color when done. I'll post much better pics after completion and clean up. Sorry for the blur. Joel
The last pic is of a panel I posted on the March 30th Friday show. It never went to anyone and I think it looked naked. I added some Imitation Gold lines to it to fill it out. I think Donzie will get this for his door prize give away at his show in September. Thanks for stopping in, more to come. Joel
Hey they **** alright! I just couldn't get any better ones tonight. I just couldn't let another Friday show paas by with showing any ****. BTW: that pic of the Chevy on the flats is gorgeous. You do very nice work. Joel
Not mine (i cant paint/draw for ****!), but thought you guys might get a kick out of it. Found it while looking at some Greazefest pictures, an event held in Queensland Aus. Pretty cool!
I did this piece for a freind of mine's dad, my friend recently killed himself, and his dad is taking it pretty hard. It's a bad pic, but it says "forever in our hearts" followed by his initials "K.R.S.".
