thanks Hack for gettin' things goin'...here's a sign that kept me busy the last few weeks as well as some window paint I laid last weekend....rock on!!!!
That sign and window art AWESOME. I hear through the g**** vine, that Barnett is in town doing some window art for a local tattoo shop. Maybe on Sunday I'll go have a look see. I might not always make a comment but I really look forward to checking out what the artist here post every Friday. Keep it up.
Great start guys! Hack I love your cartoons.Hamilton, that sign is great as is the windows.Have you ever tried a product called,"No Touch Gl*** Stripper"for cleaning windows prior to paint? This stuff is used for removing Rain-X from windshields and really promotes adhesion on gl***.Available through most auto parts stores. Here's a couple I did yesterday on a friend's bike. The first I had done before and just added the legs. The second was a continuation of the flames on the front fender.

Denise: Would that happen to be the shop on Woodward where the Broken Dream Kruise was held?If so I might motor up there to say hello.I really enjoyed meeting Dan and would like to get together again. Yes Ray, it is. Sure wish I could sneak outta work right now and meet ya there but alas my boss is being kind enough to let me out an hour early today to leave for the PileUp I don't wanna push my luck. I haven't had the pleasure of meeting Dan in person yet but I hear he's a very nice guy. Don't forget your camera.

[/ QUOTE ] Thanks for the heads-up Denise.I think I'll try and go over Saturday. You have a safe trip out to the HCPU.I'd like to go but have too many other projects pressing such as,"Lawnmower 101"(it's in many pieces in my garage right now after developing a rather loud noise in the motor). If you're ever down in the area again give me a shout and we'll do some garage crawlin'.BTW How did you like Tom's museum? He is definitely a piece of work! Ray
thanks for the nice words folks, tis true, if'n you want to see some SERIOUSLY bad *** paint slung around by the man, watch Barnett, helluva guy and great artist....Safari- I hear we need to take a gander at each others' rides, Barnett and Patty (Antichrysler) rave about it...Dan's coming up to our neck o the woods next weekend, can't wait....excellent paint here....LETS SEE MORE!!!
[ QUOTE ] BTW How did you like Tom's museum? He is definitely a piece of work! Ray [/ QUOTE ] It was soooo cooool. Everytime I turned around there was something else neat to look at. The stories he shares about each item is hilarous. We were there 1 1/2 hours and still didn't see everything. I almost didn't make it home before dark (Dark = VERY cold last Sat) I was thinking about doing alittle post on here regarding his place, including photos. Maybe next week I'll have some time to put it together. I also have some photos to add to your "Wings, Wheels and Spokes" post but haven't had time to scan them yet. So much to do, so litle time Tell Dan I said "hi" Now back to the regularly scheduled program
Been absent from the art show for a while... here's some fairly new and very new stuff: First is a DVD cover for a collection that includes "HOT ROD GIRL", "TERROR IN THE HAUNTED HOUSE", "ATOM AGE VAMPIRE", a do***entary about drive-in joints called "BURGER TOWN", and lotsa drive-in movie type stuff & vintage car commercials, etc. Next is our version of the Roth character, "Angel Fink"... our tribute is called "Daughter of Angel Fink" and this image is being used for a Halloween band show. Last, this piece is called "Halloween Hodad - aka - Powered by Ben Cooper pt.2"... it will also be used for a Halloween show... Guess that's about it... As usual, the art show has really inspiring work!!
Heres a pic of BLEEDS '32 Ford... part of a bigger pic im working on. Just wanted to post what I had done. I'm OFF to the PILEUP~ Tuck
I don't know Bleed but a guy in our car club has a similar A. He is an older guy, bought this car in 1951 in 3 pieces and has owned it ever since. It sat for 40 years before he had it redone a couple of years ago.
Been busy with other things this week but working on redoing a weird old chair which will have a metal sculpture insert in the back. Part of my faux "Hemmingway" collection. Try to have it ready for next week. Everyones stuff is fantastic as usual. FH your toons remind me of the old CARtoons rags I read when I was in highschool. Great work! George
Jonny Ace! Your work is really excellent! And the window paints are great! As well as everyone elses. I have nothing to show this week again, but I have stopped by the Art Media store and picked up more supplies. Hope to have something maybe next time. Great show this week!
Great work Professionals! Its obvious why your work is in demand. Incredible stuff! Hack...for a "little guy" your damn good! Not fine art but its...interesting and thats just as important! Keep them coming and soon you just might hit it big! What do ya think MAG GUYS...this fella have what it takes to get a page or what? I think he does. Bill
Bdrake, I thought I was the only one who LOVES 60-63 falcon wagons! That's a sweet looking concept there. (that's not my first color choice, however) if you don't mind, please keep me posted on the project... by the way, did you see the wood sided falcon on ebay in Kingman, AZ? That's pretty close to me... so tempting!
Is it art.. To me it is. My latest creations bakilava jambalaya key-lime pie stuffed g****leafs forgot to label them
Hey, nice stuff everyone! I have a good friend thats a Sue Chef (spelling), and it IS an art form for sure! I figured since this weeks art post is kinda covering all the bases, id show some past art work, not at all car related. The first is a rendering I did of an "Accused" album cover. This is Martha Splatter Head. Second is a pencil drawing of the famous Friday the 13th movie poster. Added the white glow outline and knife details with sodapop. The last two are a different art form all together. I was a 3D Level Designer for Seirra Studios. Best known for Half-Life, Tribes and S.W.A.T. Before I was layed off after 9-11, I was on the SWAT 2 team. These are level design shots, or map shots. First is the Mexican Art Gallery. When the game comes out, look at the art on the far back wall. i drew a pair of funny gl***es and a mustache on a ladys portrait back there, I'm hoping they left it there. The last is the candle shop, its below the gallery in the ba*****t. If you ever play this game called 'SWAT: Urban Justice' (All in LA if I remember right), look for the gallery and candle shop, and smile, cause you know who did it
