I took this photo a few years back at our local car show. Turns out this guy is the cousin of my wife's friend. He bought another image I did of his car at Mels Drive-in. I'm guessing that he was 11 years old when this car came on the market.

Thats one of the reasons I consider the Ole Hotrod inspired traditional...69 327...shhhh...don't tell anyone...;)...though that is one of the beautiful things about the smallblock add on some vintage jewelry and presto 1962...well sorta...

Great show this week! A little tether car concept, inspired by the old Rodzy models.

... and an actual scribble I did with the kids the other night. Graphics by my 11 year old (he digs the ZZtop coupe) and colors picked by my 9 year old (with major opinions on how the graphics should look like flames... a heated argument followed...LOL).

  16. 171211Elfin#1.jpg Sketched this in the ELFIN tent at ADELAIDE MOTORSPORT FESTIVAL last Saturday. Garrie Cooper's first race car. He later went onto fame with his ELFIN concern, turning out 250+ high quality sports- racer & formula cars, before dying of a burst aorta in his mid-fifties in 1982. The man was ahead of the curve. Loose the roll bar off this (I fought myself to add the roll bar onto the drawing). Then check that bitchin' profile.
note: That 'stuff' to the right of the windshield is a rectangular mirror, which then is obscuring the rear- mounted gas cap. Radiator cap obscures second SU carburettor.

    Festive is the Theme
    A Ho & A Ho Ho Ho...;)

Christmas-Gas.jpg The Ole Hotrod got greased at the Lubratory...what a fancy name...

I always enjoy trying to blend a vintage and or vintage styled Hotrod into a scene and make it convincing...not easy to pull off...but I try.

@Runnin shine was Santa to himself influencing this humorous Ho Ho Dizzy sitting atop his nicely rendered dash layout.

Not Christmassy ...but another historical matchup which could actually technically happen since the car has been resurrected but very likely not since the logistics would be very challenging so it remains a dream...but hey I can try to pull it from the thought to a virtual canvas...and I gave it a whirl and I called it

    Choppers.jpg

The ole axe gets double duty this time of year...Hotrods done trees next...
I always chuckle a little with this render as I had a thought while the Missus was in getting some things and Stogy was snapping a couple of pics and I saw a play on words and since theres a few out of the top I thought perfect...
so a few alterations and it all made sense

    Christmas_2015_graphic.jpg

and the tree was chopped and then this Bearded Fella shows up and asked Stogy if He could take it for a spin...
and he throws the Bag O Toys into the trunk and off he went...I got it back after Christmas...Boy I missed it...:D

Hey all...Good Job with the creative juices...;)

They did a cartoon rendering of my car for our local Christmas Toy Run here in Steveston/Richmond BC Canada... I think the car looks great, as I ran it for a couple of of years without the Sid Chavers Bop Top...although I look a little like a salt and pepper Santa Clause... Merry Christmas all!

Are these based on 1/18 scale diecasts? I can see a ton of work in the wheels alone, very impressive.

  26. Philo426, please don't take this as criticism. I'm not an artist or photographer. I just use a pencil and a cheap phone camera. But I just like having some fun with it. When I take a picture of a diecast like your Cadillac. I'll put it in front of my computer screen, or maybe even take it outside. With the back drop in the distance. It's very easy to do, and it's kinda fun to play with.;) Just some ideas, and THANKS Ron 20171216_102719.png
