    GaryC...
You definitely struck a nerve with me with your Hopper Artwork !
Hopper is one of my ultimate favorite American Artists...has been for over 40 years.

I have an earlier set of his prints which cover all of those you pictured and many more. BUT, "Nighthawks", from 1942, is my penultimate favorite...it's my "wallpaper" on this comp. and is one of the prints I have hanging in my front room.

AND, yes, there's always room for "Traditional Art" that blends in Traditional Hot Rods...here at the H.A.M.B. !

Thanks for sharing those with us !

  9. Man, this car has good flow. Can't stop looking at it. The chick figure on the hub cap isn't bad either.
    Nice capture Kenmo!

  10. I was asked to put some flames on a lamp shade.
Rattle can paint worked ok,but it needed a pinstripe.
I'm no striper, but I got out with some blue paint, and a crappy brush, and gave it a go.
Not flash, but it'll work ok. IMG_20170204_204435.jpg

    GaryC.

First; I want to thank everyone for the comments on my "Hopper Rods" and
second for one of the best shows we've had in a while. Three pages of eye candy and artistic effort!
Everyone just killed it this week.
Battersea boys; I loved the sketchy car lot, and the space-car rules!
    Thanks again guys!

    How about Van Gogh?

Okay, I can't take much credit on this one (or blame) it's mostly computer generated, I just gave it a better background and foreground to work with. I'm sure Gary could do a hot rod Van Gogh that would kick ass.

FYI, the correct pattern for D-day stripes is... white on the outsides. Gary

Heck I didnt know they meant anything in particular....shoulda known, the military usually has a purpose for nearly every marking on everything...thanks for the info.

  23. As massive an invasion as D-day was, the stripes were added to all allied planes for easier/faster recognition to avoid friendly fire.
