Overall, awesome show this week. The calibre of work over the last few weeks is outstanding and the talent here is inspiring.

Me and Teen Angel use to be pen pals back when these drawings were in Lowrider. We use to talk about how the way cars use to be fixed up in the south back in the 40's and 50's was identical to the way Chicanos did them in ELA at the same time. We had a lot in common , but I lost touch over the years. I have one of his business cards around somewhere, I'll have to put it on. Yea, Teen Angel RULES!

Yeah.. his art is bad ass! I've always wondered what happened to him, and why he never got into the custom magazines.. you can see a lot of custom influence in his artwork.

Hey Deadender60, Here is a letter I got from him that gives you a little insight into Teen Angel. It also says a little about how big Lowrider mag was at the time. I hope you can read it. Also the business card he sent. I was sending out artwork to everybody back then, before the internet.

 

Finished this one up.Be gentle I'm a rusty newby.
