Since I'll be on the road early tomorrow,
rather than risk missing the Friday Art Show,
I'll start it a little early this week.
    Here is a panel I just finished,approx 6"x15",
    the background is 1-Shot woodgrain.
The design is 1-Shot Bright Red,Chrome Yellow, and several custom shades in between.
This will go up for auction at the Detroit Autorama this weekend, all proceedes to charity.

I posted 3 different panels in early January.
Those panels are now in the personal collections of Safariknut,Daddy-O,and Ralph Hancox.

If you can't find them in the HAMB archives, they are in my alblum on Safariknut's Yahoo board. http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/pinstriperspage/

  6. Hey Unk,

  7. Just got back from Detroit and my feet ae twice their normal size. For those wondering where the stripers will be set up,they had not done so when I left. But if you come in the main entrance and go right one aisle tou'll see Rudy's 40.Go left and all the way down to the rear of the building and that is where the area is supposed to be.They couldn't set anything up tonight(I wish I had known that;I would have waited until tomorrow to arrive)because cars were still being moved in when I left;in fact there was a line of trailers half way down the block still waiting at 9:30!
I'm leaving here at 8AM tomorrow and should be there between 9 and 9:30.I have a feeling there are going to be a LOT of people there.
Anyhow,I saw Kritz and we swapped panels.Another one for my wall(if I can find space).I may have to build another garage just for my art collection(LOL)
So I guess I'll post a couple pics of things I did this week.TTYL

Heres one I've been working on for quite a while. Still need a few finishing touches. Its a 4 foot tall woodcarving of Brother Ratfink. The bike frame is welded out of electrical conduit and the rear wheel , tank, and engine are also carved [IMG]

  17. I just did a big ebay sell off and decorated all of the packages. (No, I don't know why either) I painted everything flat black then photo copied many pages of my favorite (every single one) Rolls and Pleats mags, then made hot rod collages... It took a long time but they look great...

  20. Been awhile since I had anything to post for the art show. Here's my latest. Done on black Bristol board using oil-based pencils. I only used white, gray and a little black (for little shadows - like on the headlights) The scan doesn't really do it justice, the original looks much better.

    CHAZ thats incredible.

BRUSH. i was just gonna post that but i see you beat me to it. it is awesome. for those that don't know, the two cars are Paul Beck's B-ville 32 coupe and Denny Lesky's (still under construction) B-ville/Indy inspired 32 RPU. these two guys have taken me under their wings and have been teaching me ALOT about building cars. they are best friends and so i thought it fitting i have something done with both their cars together. i'll give them each their prints of it this weekend to show my appreciation to them.

thanks Jeff, i owe you big buddy.

Nothin' to contribute this week so I get to just kick back and enjoy the show. Very nice so far! Chaz, Brother Fink is amazing. [IMG]

  25. 'scuze me while I pick my chin up off the keyboard. Great stuff guys.

Chaz, that Brither Fink is wild. What's he carved out of? Introduce yourself and give us a bit of tech on that one. I was thinking about laminating some foamboard together and carving, filling and fiberglassing it, but I've never tried anything like that.

bumpstick, I like the sketchy style on that roadster. very cool.

Brother Fink looks good Chaz. I remember checking out some earlier pics of this a while back someplace. Am I right thinking this was going on a Merry-go-Round with some other cool pieces? Looks good as a stand alone piece.

Nice work everybody, keep em coming.
    Nothing ready on my end.

  29. That Fink ROCK Chaz! The size of it is crazy! And Brush, again AWESOME work! Brush check your PMs.
Here is my doodle of the day. Been awhile since I contributed to the show.
