So Cal Chevy hardtops in and around the coastal areas...

    Hello,

We should be so lucky as to see similar 52 Chevy hardtop sedans, within several weeks of each other. They were just going down the street and visiting an industrial shop or two. But, when I saw the second one coming down the street, I thought I was going to get a great movie of the moving Chevy hardtop sedan coming toward us. Yes, guess who saw the old Chevy about a block up ahead? My wife saw it coming towards us, but a big white van just happened to roll up next to us, oblivious to our filming camera.

So, it was a point and shoot, hoping for some action. Luckily, the 52 Chevy hardtop peeked around the big white van and said Hello.

    52 Chevy CUSTOM HARDTOP
upload_2024-6-7_5-25-10.png A controversial color choice, but for a custom car… it is all in the name of standing out a****st other ordinary cars.

Since then, I have wanted to draw a custom 52 Chevy hardtop sedan in tribute to those two I saw enjoying the coastal sun and warmth. With the summer season coming up, more local cruising along the shoreline and city may be a happening thing…
    upload_2024-6-7_5-26-11.png Rake
We used to see lowered Chevy sedans in our old neighborhood, but not as brightly painted and with flames. But, who does not like a custom car with a slight rake, no matter how low it is to begin with at shows or cruising down the street…
    upload_2024-6-7_5-27-5.png Lowered
But then, there is the custom show car version or the extremely lowered “Dave Bell” style version… YRMV

Two and a half years ago, for Christmas, my adult children bought me a gift certificate for a tattoo. Distance and scheduling, along with a Miriam of life’s surprises kept me from following through. That all changed on Tuesday when in Omaha with the key conspirator. I had done the actual design for Abe Simpson’s elite group of fighting men back in the big war. So to honor my father’s service in that war along with the service and sacrifice of all the men who stormed the beaches and breached the skies of Normandy… also those who came home and stormed the drive lakes, dirt tracks and back roads in their hot rods!

Looks like old stuff has become a bit of a theme this week, I'll join since I don't have anything new either.

Painted Numbers on a Vintage Race Car, built by Brian Blain Motorsports in Visalia, Calif. last Saturday morning. Those of you that have had to paint through louvers, you know how fun that is! Great video below by Hagerty re: His local team racing! These guys race all over the country! Rag Time Racers

I didn't know you were responsible for that! I'm a huge Simpsons fan and that was how I ended up with the name. My grandfather was in the 29th Infantry and was in the first wave to land on DDay

Late to the show today, my older 15 year old, HP pavilion computer, tower case, after a big windstorm, a few days ago, caused a power outage, it finally killed the old unit. Bit the bullet and went and bought a new "Dell Inspiron", with Windows 11, and had it professionally set up by my long time computer guru, tech, nerd, that really does know his stuff.
Very nice to be able to connect with the world again.
As like everybody else this week, a couple of my older pieces.
    Have a great weekend everybody.
    Thanks from Dennis.

I would rather letter over louvers any day compared to the screen over the radiator. Nice work, hope you did not to double coat.

That is so cool. Yep I had the privilege of ***istant directing and mentoring under one of the best in the biz. That was one of our favorite episodes. Many late nights were spent. Your granddad is the real hero. God bless him and god bless you and your family who shared in his sacrifice for freedom.
