I know it is early, but I just got these prints back. No scanner here at my desk at work, so these are just Digital Snapshots. 1.
court... can you hook me up with the best place to get a holga and how to use it? Those are soo cool! I love em. good stuff man! bp
Holgas are available at www.freestylephoto.com and you get a users manual that has all of the practical stuff you're gunna need to know about using one. It takes a bit of practice to get the whole back-to-back images correct though. I have ruined many a roll of film trying to get it just right. The one of the Cheap Thrill car was the first one I am satisfied with.
Hey Drive On, what photo aging software are you using? I like how it ages the finish as well as the actual image. Not just wrinkles, but it is like it had a spray-gloss that is peeling off. Really cool!
I use photoshop and build the effect. Then overlay them. A lot of it is brushes that are in photoshop. When you click on the paintbrush go to the brush size and click on the arrow. You can load all kinds of great brushes. If you click on my link you can see others I have done.
Momentum- Holga also makes what we called the "holga-roid" when I was in school and you had to fab it yo-self. It has a poloroid back on it. Great for instant gratification and practice. Of course the actual Holga is under $20 while the Holgaroid is about $100. Thats a lot of practice film..., but you can do some stuff with it you cant do with the film camera and vice versa. There are whole sites dedicated to the art and craft of the holga. Kat
Funny, because I wish I could pinstripe. Hell I would settle for being able to draw a straight line with the aid of a ruler (and no, I don't mean Germ...).
Bad ass shots, OGNC! Damn... love the effects with the edges there a lot. The shot of the 40 ford has to be my favorite. Are the shots scanned like that, or did you digitally add the borders? I've got a two cool shots this week, and one of my dash i just painted up. Came out cool... these two are from my friend's new Galaxie...
..and a shot of my dash. Kinda art, right? Pulled it out... it was a ugly gray color stock, and even though the paint was alright, I wanted something new. I shot the lower part a metalic red, with little spots of gold in it... looks really cool in person. the top isn't white, it's actually a pearl paint with gloss on top... all of this out of spray can. Now i just need someone around town that can stripe the dash up for me!
