Just finished this for the Art Challenge, go check it out, some good stuff over there!

this started as a 53 Caddy...then it turned into the friggin Batmobile! Had fun with this one!

Oh yea...forgot to mention...FRIDAY ART SHOW KICKS ASSSSS!

 

Nice stuff this week!!! Ubermustang- love the grafitti wall. Surf monkey-nice piece! it's fun when an experiment comes out like that! makes you want to do it again. I always dig the cup Eyebone! Rollie, nice work! too bad you're in canada. would love some of that when i get there on the project...motorcity, dutch, mojo, janne, nice work. (how's your foot?) great work by everyone! the talent here is awesome and an inspiration for those of us who just like playing

i got another one done...

you know how critical stance is when building a car. everything kind of goes around the rolling stock. so much mental work goes into this part of a build, checking clearances, backing the daily driver out of the garage to step back for a better look. this painting is about that part of the build where most of the work occurs between your ears

 

Motorcitythreads, I really dig all the texture and layering going on in your image of the '55 gasser, Falconizer_62, I like the spontanaety(sp?) of the piece you just posted, it capture the scene you're describing very well, The quickness of the paint/brushwork makes me think of the frantic moving of cars in the garage just to check the stance out on your project in the works..the unfinished sketchy quality also relates back to the under construction project...I really really like what's going on in your painting!~Mojodaddy

60's Concept Art
I had my scanner running this evening
and thought that I would post some
concept art from various 60 car magazines.

One of my favorite artists of that era is Stan Mott.
He was able to infuse humor and real illustrative style into his art.
(His drawings are the ones that say Mott-Dart... etc)

 

the rear shot of USA version of the "production GT car" pic is hypnotic. one of the coolest designs in that style that i've seen...

 

MotorCity we must be on similar wave lengths....
