I've always wanted to learn 3d. So I downloaded a free copy of Maya from their website this week (hence the watermark) and have been trying to figure it out. I figured if I start with a car it would make it easier. Rudimentary T-bucket. Anyone have a Full version of this software for the mac? Hell, I don't have 2 grand to spend on real cars! -stick
P.S. This has been one of the best art post ever!

Sweet! I never used to like lace paint jobs, but as I've grown up, I've started to love them. That's a beaut!

    Hey Bumpstick...

Keep your eyes peeled for a Program called Bryce. It's only a couple hundred bucks (which is alot - but is much cheaper than the 2 to 4 thousand you'll spend on Maya or 3D Studio Max).

It is easy to play with and if you network (make some internet buddies) you can get a lot of free models to tweek on.

I have AutoCAD at home - so I make all my models in there and export them as a .3ds file to Bryce5 and render them in there.

That's how I get images like this....(it was my first ever attempt at rendering - years before I got my CAD degree - just playing with shapes and texture/light).

Just a drawing, excuse the glare. Scanner down, had to use camera. Drawing of my dog when I was a kid. I just wish I could draw Monster drawings like you doods. :(
