i have to say taking pictures of your work is extremely satisfying. after that I went to autorama and learned a great deal. looking back at these pcitures and the pictures in march of me in daytona in the horse magazine.....makes me wanna vommit but also puts a grin on my face!!!

you can go HERE to see my whole portfolio, or a collection of "good" work that I put into my photo album i carry around with me to show people...

as you click through the 13 or so pages, you can also see some progression too.

i wont rant about how it links with choppers, etc. etc. and not racisism in all cases because its all been said before, ill just leave it at that.

its a customers helmet and he wanted striping, swatztikas, and rat fink.

  9. Maybe we should post on Friday when it's FRIDAY in our own timezone (?)

Or start a Monday art page, than a Wednesday art page, or just random days for when we feel like getting out stuff posted.

    great post Rob,

I'll check and see what I can't get a picture of tonight I hid a few things from week one to gauge my progress by and I havn't look at it since so I guess its time...oh and for the others if you don't like an early start to the art show don't read it till Friday....the contributers every week such as Ray, Rob, Ian, Joel, and Geoff (I can't list everyone but know you all have impact on my work) are in different time zones and have others things going on in their lives so I say post whatever whenever you guys are my heros...I'll be back with my stupid contribution in the morning..... [IMG]

  12. Great work Rob. Cool to see the progress too.

The reason the Friday Art Show got started on FRIDAYS was to reduce the clutter every other day. The point was to NOT have OT art posts all the time.

yeah, but for us kustom guys, this is pretty ON topic. I like the progress pix ideas. I bought my first brush 3 weeks ago and I'll try and dig up my pix. I noticed on the one panel you gridded how you were working the same design. I'm all for spontaniety but I have to give you props on practicing on the same idea [IMG]

I have found it is a good idea to keep some old stuff to see if you are progressing. One of the first things I every posted, before I had a sword or one shot.

  18. I'm not going to destroy Rob's post by explaining the significance of the Swastika in the biker community here.

If you'd like to know about this you can PM me. And in no way, shape, or form am I trying to be a know-it-all. I'm just trying to help.

Here is the first hot rod I did back in 1998 or 1999 at one of the cruise nights at "hot rod's of norco" under the watchful eye of Larry Watson, and Dave Whittle(who lettered "the Ghoul" on the side. I don't know what happened to this car, but it can be seen in a book called "Retro Rods."

Rob, why do you call yourself "caffeine"?

Then in 2002 I was doing this for Jesse James. It took two weeks, and can be seen in one his newer books.

I did this bike about the same time for one of his employee's. They don't like it when it is brought to work because it distracts everybody from everything else.

how i got the name is a little off topic but here goes...in the late 80's early 90s i was into the computer geek/hacker underground, spend nights pounding on the computer in the earliest days of the internet (like before www pages). dialup, BBS systems, etc. for anyone who knows about the geek stuff. id go to school and have to drink a cup of coffeee and 2 20oz jolt colas before homeroom. so everyone called me caffeine. even my teachers.

    name kinda stuck.

now I'm in charge of Information Security for Dow Jones (the wall street journal/stock market, etc.) and i still have to have excessive amounts of caffeine to function...

also, its amazing my hands dont shake much when i stripe.

there ya have it. im a geek. haha.

Great idea showing early works. I just bought my first OO Mack a few days ago. It helps to keep my hopes up seeing others work when they just started out. I'll keep practicing, hell, I don't think I've stopped since I brought the brush and paint home!
