So, do you like, know DOS, or what? What was that space trader game anyways? I remember when I saw the first Apple - I thought, "how cute - a computer for children" then MS stole the wimpy interface & I thought "computers for folks who are computer illiterate"

    Ahhh...memories...

I'm no geek, but I do know DOS & did fool around on BBSes once in a while (FIDONet type stuff).

    Hey Rob,
You picked up a brush on my Birthday! Weird... Anyway, amazing work. I think that either you can stripe or you can't. Theres really no middle ground. Looks like you were born with a gift I'll never learn. I just don't have it. I can't see the lines in my head or something. Not like I can visualize a finished print using my camera.

Started this custom 37 Chevy several years ago and pulled it out of the pile to work on. I think there are a few guys here that could pull this one.

  16. OK I guess I can post some older stufffor now until Friday rolls around and I can post some new stuff! [IMG]
This first one I posted awhile ago but figured I'd run it up the pole again for a laugh. The pic is lousy(an old Polaroid)but if you look closely at the footboard, you can see some light blue striping.I did this when I was about 11 or 12 years old.
The next pic is of the first car I did that appeared in a national magazine(Hot Rod November 1963).It was striped in 1961 and I got a dropped axle with split bones and hydraulic brakes for doing it.
The next pic is of me(considerably lighter and smoking)laying out a flame job on Charlie Burrows' 27T in his LIVING ROOM!(Which is where we painted it with alklyd enamel;I think the yellow overspray is still there). He had a garage but no heat(no doors either).
Then a couple of bikes I collaborated on with my friend Kelsey Martin. He did the spraywork(he's a wizard with a doorjamb gun)and I did some of the layouts and the striping. The drag bike is shown in the magazine(about 69 or 70)with a pic he sent me after he bought it back a couple years ago.The Triumph(Aggravation)was one of the few Brit bikes that Easy Riders ever featured.
    More on the Friday post.

  20. Last one for now:a pic of yours truly striping the dashboard of my cousin's 32 Ford roadster(now owned and lovingly cared for by Dave Simard)about 1966.I was home on leave.

Hell I still get to screw with Dos, AIX, AUX, BSD, and a bunch more of the older OS'es and apps. The joys of working in academia.... Universities don't get rid of anything...

Caffine, great idea for the friday show. I'll post some of my high school drawings tonight and my later stuff in the morning. [IMG]

This was an art class project in high school 1989.

I posted these pics late last weekend, so I will re-post these. This is an old "Pleasure Chest" cooler that I picked up at a yard sale for $5.00, stripped the paint off of it, and repainted it minneapolis moline gold (leftover paint from the wheels on my car), and painted the handles, bottle opener and drain, satin black. The striping is black and off-white, compliments of Kritz.
