    jdubbya, Great stripin' man! [IMG]

Another high school pic. I never really paid much attention to what the teacher was saying. It's a wonder I graduated, all I did was draw during class! [IMG]

Last one for now. Drawn in 1991, a picture of what my car looked liked after I rear ended an old chevy truck in Alaska. I thought it would make a better drawing with the car hitting a tree instead of the truck.

Here is some stuff I did this week.... Sorry about the pictures, I just can't seem to get really good shots with my digital. The yellow board has gold striping on the bottom, I'll try and take some closer pics and post later....

  15. Well it's one hour and sixteen minutes into Friday here beyond the Northwestern Frontier.

I don't have anything new, only a few starts. So I thought I would post some older shit.

First up is a couple of 'Vettes I did circa 1981( I think ) for a Chevrolet dealership here in Chicagoland. The GM thought a 'lil striping would help move the Plastic Fantastic, as there was a recession going on. The striping was to be one color and subtle( not my thang ), so here goes. [IMG]

    First up black 'Vette:

These smaller ones were done about 3 weeks ago. All steel, and weigh 3-5 lbs. Gene

  17. Here's another, silver 'Vette.

These on the white back ground were done both last week and this week. I think the semi gloss black shows up better on the white back ground, don't you? Gene

I have several views of any of the cars pictured. And, they are for sale. Gene

  23. Here's a panel I did for my first ever Detroit panel jam.

I always thought ya had to bring a panel to swap with other guys. So to make a big splash, I thought I would paint and stripe a old Turnpike Cruiser skirt I had bought way back in 1977 for a future project.

So I do it up and bring it to the Jam. I had a idea to only stripe it a little bit and have other guys add to it and give it away. Well when I announced that anyone can add to it, I was met with silence. I realized I was new to the gathering and nobody knew me. No problem. Through out the day I would yell out to anyone to feel free to add some stripes to it. I then went back in my corner.

A nice gentleman named Honest John added the Process Blue outline to my candy checkerboard flames. He did a nice job. Then back to the corner.

Toward the end of the day, three hombres sauntered in and I gotta admit were very cool young guys. They had these neat car coats with a club name on the back and heavy Tattoos. I watched them and thought these guys seemed talented and cool. I really liked their style.

I struck up a conversation with them and got along well right off the bat. So to make a long story short, I gave them the panel for their tattoo shop they told me they operated. I really had a great time.

I got a another striper to add to it at the close of the Jam. His name is Dennis Gibbs, a phenomenol pinstriper and a beautiful man. I could spend another couple of pages writing about the delightful hour and half conversation I had with him in the parking lot after the Jam. That's for another day.

Back to my new found buddies I gave the panel to..............The name on the coats said DEADBEATS, Detroit. The HAMB for me was still a year away.

PPoC...nice to hear the story that goes with that skirt. It's still proudly displayed at the shop...one of the first things the guys showed me on my first visit!

Oh man.. so while we're embarrassing ourselves... I love my first stripe job.. I'm glad i've taken pictures all this time.. It was soooo horrible.. using the wrong side of a brush that was way too dry and doing everything by eye and using stupidly straight lines.. haha.. so here it is: July 9th 2004 :p

Okay and here's what I'm doing 2-3 months later, now that I've learned to hold and load a brush and using a centerline and grid to keep it a little more symmetrical.

I would say I have been striping around 14 years, before that I practised for around 3. I don't believe I am a natural striping talent and have had to be very committed and dedicated to attain the level I am presently at. I didn't photograph much of my real early stuff. Only began photograping my stuff when I started doing stuff for others. I now have a couple of pretty full photo albums of stuff I have done over the years.
The first shot was probably done around 12 years ago on the dash of a friend's Falcon ute. I liked it enough at the time to use the design on my introductory card. I do not have a business, so I see it as a means of introdction. Geoff aka Whodaky [IMG]
Next 2 are the same one's looking from different directions. I did this one last night on my nephew's new welding helmet. The helmet will have a lot more done to it when I am finished [IMG]
