Hello folks. I have many questions as usual, but I like to lurk and search, too. A member sent me here for some rear measurement questions (didn't think to ask his username) but that's for later

I have a 1964 Impala convertible that was originally a 327/300 hp pg bench car. I bought it as a "roller" (lots of rust, holes, and missing parts, the term roller is used too loosely sometimes)

I've aquired over the years just about everything I need to complete. I have a 409/425 hp motor, 4l60 trans, I would like to use the antilock brakes from my 95 caprice, but that's a distant future project which requires narrowing the caprice rear.

my soon to be daily driver is a 67 Chevy II sedan. Currently recovering some Chevelle bucket seats for that. Someday I'm making that electric...when I can afford it:eek:

Ha ha. My friend has about 8 traditional hot rods and about 4 modified restored cl***ics. So he leans towards the traditional hot rod side. He suggested I come here because he said, "those guys will have your answers off the tops of their heads" meaning measurements for lug bolt patterns and rear width. If you read past my username you'd see that I plan on doing a lot more than just restoring these cars, so I'll have questions for people who have been through putting things where they don't belong. Feel free to ignore me, dude.

still waiting for the answer to this one, mercMad
thanks for the kind words, CLSSY56. Someday when I get these cars out of the way I'd love to get my hands all over a g***er

Thanks Scooterville...I can see that even sites for hard core gearheads have "forum nannies" oh well

Welcome fellow HAMB er. You may find more info on what you are building on Chevy Talk. Not that we dont want you here- its just not the era of car for here. I did a 64 Impala as one of the first rides out of my shop. Cool ride.

I'm a member over at chevy talk as well. There is some very good info over there especially if you have a question on an original item specific to certain year's.. I've gained some knowledge over there myself.

Well put. I'm a member of chevytalk. As I said before, I'll be lurking and learning what I can by reading the posts on this board, and any questions I may ask will be strictly general measurement and suspension related. Questions that I believe would be best asked here. I know what I'm doing, so don't expect me to ask, "will this fit??" expect me to ask, "anyone know what rear has a 64" width axle to axle with a pinion 1" offset to the right? "
