Its probably not the neighbors themselves as the realtor is most likely the culprit,the lady who lived next door to me for over 20 years had no problem with my cars but as soon as the house did not sell quickly enough I had a letter about the non licensed cars and I know it was the realtor. The realtors do not have enough balls to say anything to you so they hide behind the government,well I fixed that realtor as I got rid of the cars in question and I had garage parties every sunday when there was a open house with many cars in the driveway with hoods open so it even took longer to sell and I got a motorhead for a neighbor now. n answer to the problem, just another post on what's happening out there. My sister and her husband live in a development in Ft. Myers, FL (not super ritzy, just a bit upscale). About five years ago we drove into their gated community in our 1997 immaculate S10 extended cab (full engine & interior specs, gloss black and no trim on the exterior). We were accosted by the guard at the entrance who apparently thought we were friends of the Unabomber. After establishing our credentials, we were given a "P***" for our side window, to be displayed upon each entrance. We could suffer that one okay, but we dared to return a few years later in our new 2004 S10 crew cab with all GM mandated chrome. We were accepted at the gate by the rent-a-cops, but they said we had to hide the new S10 in my sister's garage, because "The ***ociation" had p***ed a restriction that THERE COULD BE NO PICKUPS PARKED IN DRIVEWAYS OVERNIGHT!! Sorry for the caps, but when is one of us going to establish the first retirement community for sane people and/or old car guys?
***ociations just plain ****. I could never live under their thumb. Hell, I doubt any of us could - we're just not 'that way.' It all seems so...anti-American to me. Land of the free...until you p*** through the community gate...then you're in "Suburbistan" ~Scotch~

This is THE answer. If you get another gearhead for a neighbor, life will be better than ever. If the whole block is filled with gearheads, one of you can run for alderman and get the law changed. Several years ago someone filed a complaint with the village because I had a 5x8 trailer from work parked next to my tool shed. I read the ordinance they gave me, and it specifically addressed *recreational* trailers and not work trailers. I called the village an pointed this fact out, and told them that this law simply didn't apply to me. I WON! I never found out who turned me in, but it could have been a realtor too. I usually help my neighbors with their cars, so most are very tolerant of my automotive toys.
You need to park a legally tagged and insured ****box in front of your house or his. I have a F250 with faded out red paint and a non matching 2-tone bed I use for parts haulin and trailors. IM sure they would love it parked all day in front. I say let the games begin.
Sorry it bums you out. It's annoying to be threatened by people you don't like. However, consider this in your own best interest... If they get a better price, then on average places in your neighborhood do better. It's good for all of you. And when it comes time for *you* to sell, you'll get a better price, too. Imagine the downward spiral if all of the neighbors made the neighborhood less attractive everytime someone tried to sell. You'd be lucky to move with any equity at all. Be a good neighbor until closing, then be yourself. That's what I've done.
Thats so true. I lived in a condo years ago and bought a motorcycle. I parked it in my ***igned spot and got a notice that no motorcycles were allowed. I then informed them that there were more than 20 other bikes in the same complex there answer was they were grandfathered in 5 years ago and that was amasing cause half the bikes were brand new the next time i heard from them i was told i couldnt back in my 72 vette in to my parking spot cause the tail pipes would stain the back wall i told them to go f^&% off I had side pipes lol Bill
SOMETIMES life is good...... Yuppies ***hats sold their house. The new owner turned up yesterday intending to move in...had trucks and movers at the ready, etc. She (slngle woman, all of 4'11'', 105 pounds) gets there and the place is a PIGSTYE. Turds in bathroom ****per, tubs are almost uncleanable, place was FILTHY. She called the realtor and forced the ***hat to come get the trash he left in a side building...old paint cans, tires, etc. cancelled the movers and hired a professional cleaner, who spent ALL DAY yesterday AND today cleaning the place. Now, get this....***HAT called for the cops to be there while he was there to prevent any trouble from my new neighbor. MAJOR *****, that one. Anyways he's ****ING GONE...and good ridance to him. That's cool, ****head gone, potential eyecandy in. I had a similar situation. Mine was next door though. I keep my enclosed hauler as a divider. Once he started the har***ment I promptly started fertilizing my planter that lined his property once a week, every week with steer manure. Hey, 88 cents a bag of silent revenge. I didn't ever smell it, my trailer blocked it! Final straw, and got the message across best, was handing baggies of Round-up, liquid weedkiller as going away presents to all of my guests of a party I'd had. I kindly instructed them to lob them onto his lawn as they p***ed upon exiting, I'd pick the baggies up upon late night clean-up. Within three days it looked like the blotch test at my psychiatrists office.....errrr....the blotch tests I've HEARD of psychiatrists using. No har***ment since!
WTF??? no plates on the trailer or car? if they are registered who are they to tell you what to do with your stuff?
I have the opposite situation here. I'm the car guy on the block (three projects) and my yard, house, and property are a**** the cleanest in the neighborhood. Here are some photos of what my next door neighbors' yards look like (both sides of me). They have me surrounded. Oh.....and I don't call the cops !
just about lost the morning coffee on this one laughing... on the upswing, we used to live in a neighborhood with really tough ccr's and our neighbors house came up for sale. i was trying to paint a car which i had all masked and ready to shoot and my plan was to roll it out, paint it and then roll it back into the garage, i had the paint mixed, the car ready and right when i rolled it out the realtor drove up with some yuppies, (the guy was literally head of a division at HP, ) there wasn't much i could do but finish the car, and roll it back in. needless to say the realtor or the sellers weren't too happy. long story short a week later the yuppie bought the place and he said it was because he loved the idea of a neighborhood so friendly you could paint a car in the driveway... so you never know.
Dude, we must live in the same neighborhood! I've got the same situation here! Now I'm nowhere close to being a neatnik and I pride myslef on being very tolerant, but these people are freakin' obnoxious slobs! We literally put up a 6 foot privacy fence to keep the trash from blowing into the backyard. No to mention they are the the LOUDEST people on the face of the earth. Whoops, where was I?... Oh yeah, so anyhow, a few weeks ago I got a letter in the mail from codes with all these bunk violations, weeds too high, remove old tires, ac***ulating rubbish, including one that states you're not allowed to store an unlicensed, uninsured, or partially dismantled vehicle on any part of your property even in your garage !!! (I keep the garage door shut at all times now!) My wife, who meticulously landscapes and florally decorates our entire spotless property hit the roof! She went down to city hall with a bunch of pictures and layed into them. This is after we've been picking up garbage out of our front yard every morning and calling about these two rental properties/landfills we live between for two years with no action taken. It seems the codes officer "got confused". Yeah... ummm, WTF? Turns out, he's related to these two families. For some reason he was transferred from the case. Idiots! The worst part is, the places still look like dumps!!
Sweet revenge...but you just have to be slick about it. 1. Someone mentioned the "upper tank". That ones a cl***ic, it will be days before they realize what happened. 2. You could also complain about their dogs barking. that should piss them off. 3. Go to the news stand and get the little mail reply cards from every stupid magazine you can think of, playgirl dog fancy etc... There is a little box that says bill me later, have them sent to his adress. they will have to send all of them back not to mention the embarrasment and he will never know it was you.
I had this same issue at the last place I was at. Seems there was some enforceable law about an unplated vehicle in the driveway so my 76 Wagoneer was in violation of this. I got a warning and then a ticket while it was sitting in my driveway. 3 months later I bought the house I am in now and told every one of the neighbors to **** off in my old neighborhood by having a 4th of July party until 3 am......in the middle of November
ive pretty much had the same problem, i have a coverted barn- garage in the back of my mother inlaws property i work out of. and everyhting was fine and dandy untill they started building the 1.2 million dollar houses behind hers. everything was fine untill thos houses wouldnt sell. had to cut up one of my trucks and take it to the dump, got rid of two frames a couple bikes and motors. keep in mind this is a 2 acre lot in the backout of view from the road. In prince william county you are not allowed to have any vehicle with out tags and inspection, and no outside storage!!! wtf. If anyone runs into a dwayne turner in man***as VA tell him to F himself and mind his own sh!t ive done countless favors for him and welded anything he wanted for free. not anymore Sh!ta$$ neighbor.
