I grew up in the 50's reading magazines that featured a variety of these "Specials" and always thought, to this day, how much fun it would be to build a car from nearly 'scratch' with the styling of the 40's.

Still haven't done it............over the ensuing years got involved in a variety of engine swaps, hot rod builds etc..........but no "Special"............one of these days though...............

I'm a little leary of the "built on a '32 Ford frame" part. But I kinda dig it.

    Nothing wrong with a 32 Ford frame...but
with such a varied and eclectic collection
of parts, I wonder if the 'Bulinformercillac"
was the inspiration for the Johnny Cash'
"One Piece At A Time" Cadillac!!! :D :D

I think it was at Bo Huff's cruise in Berdo last year.

That looks like one of the buildings at the Pomona Fairplex, as in GNRS time.
I see Larry Watson's square bird, the booth for Drive Magazine, and a couple other cars I've seen. I don't remember seeing that car there though
Looks like another handmade special next to it.
There were a few race cars back then that were built the same way, like Ol' Yeller

Wow! It amazing that this car has survived
all this time and is still around! It looks a lot
better in color in these modern-day photos too
than it did in b&w in the original 1952 Popular
    Science magazine write-up on it!!!!
