I still feel that should be on the next HAMB calendar. Andy's a big part of why I've been reading, even though I'm not working on my project for a couple of weeks.

    News from Chris...........

Hello Everyone, Andy had a better day today. He"s blowin everyone away with his progress. He was up and down in the bed so many times with no changes in his readings on the machines that the doctors came in and said take all the hoses and wires off of him and take him out of I.C.U he dont need to be here anymore.Packed up his gear he had in his room threw it on the bed with Andy in it and we were off to a private room on the 8 floor.Ha, Hes gettin closer to the door.Still got that "not swallowing "issue to deal with so he is still feeding through his nose.Their working on a plan for that. Sickness is almost stopped. CT Scan says everthing is working fine(shunt).Got his first look at the computer today. The first thing he went to was the H.A.M.B. Never spoke for about an hour and a half only looked at all the posts. After a while," I said what do ya think". He looked at me and whispered Make reservations for MOKAN. Thanks Chris

    Hot off the press......................

Hi Everybody, Andy had a very good day. Sick sometimes but steady most of the time. Swallowing is still an issue. Looks like he may have a peg feed in his side on Monday as the docors feel he wont still be able to swallow. Doctor says shedule as follows pending no surprises, Peg feed in stomach on Monday, collegen injection behind right vocal(paralyzed)one to move it closer to the left vocal so he can talk and try to swallow better on Tuesday, then Wednesday and Thursday to heal . If everthing is good discharged on Friday to head for Newfoundland to finish rehab there. 4 weeks later off to Northern California(Stanford Hospital) to have Cyberknife rad treatments for about a week. So thats the score folks as of now(which is subject to change). I will keep you posted. Thanks Chris

Leon, so he's had something like 40 hours of surgery in the last month? That's more then some people work in a month. I'm sure he and his parents will feel much better when he sees home.

Andy in front of his car has my vote to be the cover car on the 2008 HAMB calendar.
It surely represents the soul and heart of the HAMB community.
Yes we are here for our love of traditional hot rods and customs.
Sure we can get unruly at times, but reading the concern for Andy and others onthis board is incredable.

God bless you Andy and my continual prayers for your recovery.

See you Aug 2008 at Mokan.

    Jim H

pardon my spelling it has been a long weekend.

    LAtest update folks

Hi Everybody, Andy had a great weekend considering all that was done. Hes moving steadily in the right direction and dont have to be persuaded to get up to go for a walk. As soon as his eyes opens he whispers get me up.I gave up holding on to him as he is walking steadier and now uses a walker. Doctor was in and checked him over.Secretions have slowed down and he dont have to suction out his mouth as much, so the doctor says he is going to put a hold on the feeding tube peg in his side until after he has the collegan injection on tuesday because he figures Andy must be swallowing some secretions even though Andy cant feel it.So there might be a chance that Andy wont need the tube.Doctor says make arrangements to fly home on Friday. Andy will have to fly first class as he will have medical equipment on board just in case of emergency on the plane.Once we get home he will go in hospital at the Janeway Childrens Hospital for a while for rehab.Knowing Andy that wont be for long.Anyway, thats it for now. Everybody keep praying for Andys success with the swallowing as I know for sure all your prayers have helped him pull through these massive surgerys that he has had and the successful recovery he has made. The Doctors here say he is truly a "miracle child" for what he has endured. Thanks Chris
