I'm so glad to hear things went well! I've been thinking about this all week. All HAMBer's with kids-hug 'em and tell them you love them!

    Chris-

Give Andy a big hug from DEGREASER.

  3. Nice to hear, he is in our thoughts.

  4. Chris, I too am sitting here with sweaty eyeballs thinking how I would feel were I in your shoes. Good news to hear and my prayers go out for continued healing and strength for your whole family.

I'm looking forward to sewing up Andy's seats for him. I consider it my privilege to give what I can to help make Andy's hot rod dream come true.

Man this is great news. I was saying a prayer for Andy on the way to work this morning and thinking about how he might be doing. From what I understand, he has another procedure tomorrow that we need to get him through so everyone keep the faith and let's get Andy through this. Amen.

Any time I get word on Andy (good or bad), my eyes fill with tears. It's just amazing to me that one sick boy has so much strength. Although I am happy beyond words at Andy's successful surgery, I think it's best to take a moment and thank you and your boy. Andy's cause has helped show what a fantastic community the HAMB truly is, and has probably unknowingly become a hero to many of us. I know he has for me.

    Keep kicking ass.

I too spent most of the day trying to do what I normally do, but I couldn't concentrate.
All I could think about was "how's Andy doing right now"

Not a dry eye in my kitchen with my wife and I RIGHT NOW!

He very well could turn out to be the next uber-influential rodder, like Barney Navarro, or Stu Hilborn, or one of many earlier pioneers of our sport. Their spirit lives on forever, and so will Andys.

Chris, thank you soooo much for the good news.

Hang on to that boy, and never let him go, no matter what life throws at him, I know he's in your soul.

  8. I've been following Andy's threads from the beginning and have been truly moved by the support and prayers of my fellow hot rod "hoodlums". I think about our pal everyday, and a day does not go by that my wife or someone else I have spoken to along the way asks how Andy is doing. I too send my thoughts and prayers to Andy and your family.

I know this was mentioned early on, but where are Andy's current surgeries taking place? I remember seeing an "agenda" and timeline and thought something was mentioned about San Diego...can someone confirm?

Good news! When Andy is ready to go home I think the HAMB members in the area should meet up and escort the family to the airport. It would be like a government motorcade but with a ton of bad hot rods. That would be sweet.

Nice to hear from you Chris, stay strong and give Andy all our best!

One more procedure in the rear view mirror. God will keep pouring out his blessings and grace if we keep our prayer vigil up. The best to you Chris, your wife and our newest hero Andy.

Glad to hear everything went will with Andy. Praying for a speedy recovery.

Is there an address we can send goodies to while he is in recovery at the hospital?

  17. Good news about Andy for sure. It has been a pleasure giving him something besides his illness to focus on. He is one tuff guy. Looking forward to seeing a pic of him going down the road in his model A. Pat.

  18. It is great to hear that Andy is doing well.

As a parent I can understand, but your strength, and especially Andy's strength, moves me beyond words.

We will keep thinking of him and helping him as best we can. Look forward to hearing from him soon, and I am sure glad that I am a HAMBer with the rest of you fine people.

Andy is an inspiration to me, as I'm sure he is to others. Any serious illness can and will bring out a person's strengths and weaknesses. This applies not only to the person with the illness, but their family and friends. The way you and Andy have dealt with this is amazing.

I've also had extended family via the internet involved with my wife's issues with MS. I understand how difficult the first step of letting those around you know about it can be, as well as the relief that you've got friends everywhere wishing and praying for the best. I've had help from friends I've never met in getting a vehicle moved 1,700 miles earlier this year, they're just like the people on the HAMB, just into a different hobby. There are a lot of good people in this world, and when things get tough, they'll be there for you, as you've seen lately.

Take care of yourself and Andy, you're both making our lives better by including us in yours.

  25. That is good news, Chris. You and your family and especially Andy are constantly in our thoughts and prayers. As has been said before Andy is an inspiration to us all. God bless, Brendan.
