    Thanks Shane,

It truly started with a thought of making Andy smile, passing it forward so to speak. Then with the help of JunkYardDog32 (Joe) the dream of Joplin was started. Then the monster awoke and started to beat up on Andy once again. Soooooooooo after talking to Fitzee and Hackerbill we figured that Andy should have a ride if he is gonna hang out with us here. And that it would put the fight back into Andy, and "WE" did just that. Thanks to Ryan for letting us jam his site with posts. And the great HAMB'rs who sent gifts, donations of parts and money made this dream happen.

Soooooooooooooo now the latest news just in.

Hi everybody. Andys doin great. Sat up in the chair today for 5 hours. He
got alot of hoses hooked up. He is pullin through like a True
Newfoundlander. Talks of the next Surgery Tuesday morning now. It will be
the fusion in the back with the steel rods and plates. I will keep you
    posted. Chris

And yes, this is bigger than one person or one idea. I believe together we saved a young boys life. Sure we didnt remove the tumor, but we gave him the strenght to fight. We gave him friendship and most of all we showed a 12yr old boy that Hot Rodders are the best, that HAMB'rs are the best. The HAMB was the first thing Andy asked about on his dry erase board...........you think we made a difference?????????? We together a bunch of strangers, all with a few screws loose over old cars, came together as a team to give a once very sick young man a dream to live for.

Amazing, truly amazing. I love telling this story to other people, it just blows them away and sends a clear message about the kind of people we have on this board and in the hot rod industry/hobby.

More prayers and best wishes to you Andy for a speedy recovery.

    Latest from Chris

Hi Everyone ,Andy was stable most of yesterday. He slept alot because they
uped his drugs because of alot of (background pain) That is after surgery
pain where all the nerves and muscles are coming back to life around his
incisions and so on. The last surgery starts this morning(tuesday) at 7:00am
Seattle/11:30am Newfoundland time. They say it will take approx 8 hours to
complete as it too is pretty complex so.This will be the fusion part where
they will plate and put in rods to secure the spine from C3 to T1 in his
back. I will ask again to pray for a successful surgery for Andy as I feel
there is alot of power coming from your prayers. I will post as soon as I
    know hes o.k Thanks Chris

My thoughts are with him. If this surgery goes as well as the last 2, he'll be well on the road to recovery very soon. I'll be looking forward to updates later, when they're available.

    Chris and Family,
Our family continues to keep you and Andy in our prayers. He is very strong and should do well with this final surgery. May God continue to support Andy through all he is going through.

Andy, I know that you won't read this until after the surgery is over but like others here I want you to know that while this procedure is going on I (we) will be praying for you. Praying for the skill of the doctors, for strength of others involved and wisdom for all that are making decisions on your behalf.
You've displayed a remarkable amount of courage for your age and I''m also praying that this adventure will be reflected in the type of individual you are for the rest of your life. Use these events to help you become a concerned person for others and take advantage of moments when your experience can help someone go through a crisis in their own life.
The Lord be with you and strengthen you for the days ahead. I look forward to meeting you some day.

  26. Hey guys! Just wanted to let you know that we are thinking about you, Leon and Glen have been keeping us updated. By the way Andy, Barry did a burn-out the other night that you really would've approved of. (It didn't involve fire trucks like when you guys made the rubber ball at the train station that night, but really cool all the same!!!)

    See you soon,

    Jill and Barry

P.S. Thursday nights just aren't the same without you guys - I have no one to sit inside with and share a hot chocolate !
