I love the direction your rebuild is going; its really looking great so keep it comming.

The RR debate is way over cooked on here so save it for some place els and let the man enjoy his build.

  2. Screw 'em if they can't figure out where you are comming from they don't deserve to know.
Now screw that dude together spring is right around the corner.

PISS ON THE ONES ON HERE THAT ARE SO EASILY OFFENDED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Would you rather that no one looks at your rod and comments? If you act in person the way that you do on here, it's no wonder you hate the world (input Gran Torino at this point)...you're just miserable and your dog doesn't even love you. If someone is looking at the car and the only term they know is rat rod and they say, "man that is a "badass or killer or nice" rat rod....then say what you want then to them but leave your 1930's backwards way of thinking out of what someone else says. I'm building what I want and if I ask for some information or education on what I'm building and you don't like what I'm calling my cruiser, then piss on ya. I bet your grandkids really enjoy beiong around you. "Hey grandaddy, that is really neat car...is it a rat rod?" "Go home kid and don't ever think I'm going to take you fishing again. Get a freakin grip old men....I had a 1965 Dodge coronet in 1984 as my first car and still to this day call it a hot rod....was it....no, but it was to me. And I would hate to have to pull your AARP cards if you didn't agree with me. Just let the folks talk as they please and just be glad that the "uneducated public" is at least interested enought to learn something. When you listen to the opinion of other people only....you end up being president and thinking that you are God. Besides that, I thought that Boyd had passed on (rest his soul)...not on here bashing other people

Hey man, switch to decaf, it's no big deal. Kid wanted to show that he's grown as a car builder and the way he tried to explain it set off a word war, no need to get excited.;)

BTW, I like what you're doing to your ride, I hope you keep posting as you go along, I'm interested in seeing how it turns out.:D

flatout51, i think you have a great start on what your doing. i liked the first edition and if your abilities are as good as it appears they are i think most people on here, myself included are looking forward to updates on your progress. keep up the good work.

i cant tell you how many times someone has told me they restored their car only to look and see a rod or custom. in the long run it only matters if you are looking to buy something and their definition is different than yours.
as long as people are enjoying their cars , i could care less what its called. i call em cars, among other things.

As for porknbeaner....my simple analogy was to say that whatever someone that isn't familiar with the terminology calls it, enjoy the conversation and take it as a moment to educate. I am a critical care nurse at one of the busiest emergency rooms in the worldand deal with uneducated people in the medical field all the time. However, the difference is that I don't call them derogatory names and I don't create discord with them as a way to show I'm a billy bad butt either or to attempt to demean them and show my superiority and impressive knowledge skills. I am so excited about learning from the people on this board, but I have to tell you this porknbeaner...when i ask a question if you got something to say....keep it to youself unless you want to pass on some of that superior knowledge to some of us newer guys.

spread my hate??????? I'm not the one that cursed and directed anger....if i have a problem with you, you'll know it. I'm not a young punk, I'm an ol' ky boy that spent many years in the military and don't take no crap from anyone except my momma. Now, if you would like to "shut up or put up" then I'm all for it, but again....be a man and just respect others.
Just for the record....i never used the term rat rod since 2 years ago when Mr Personality porknbeaner introduced himself to me with my very first thread (go back and look it up). So, yes, I am familiar with your tirades and your knowledge, the latter I respect.

As I always say, "ain't no thang". That's the beauty of a free world....gathering information and establishing your foothold in life.

I too will apologize for going off thread. I must also extend an apology to Porknbeaner...

Once again, the car is a nice build...I only wish I could find a body like that.

Oh dude, you are wrong if you think that is a rat rod....Rat rods are pieces of shit that are dangerous to drive. This car is not . Go read your Hot Rod magazine.

Not sure if I like the truck grill or the A better... needs raised in the rear the 7.50s should help!! The front should drop more with the rest of the weight. Oh I slid the rear end under it tonight to check width and its perfect!

Thanks guys! I agree the truck grille looks bulky. I might just have to spend the money and buy a deuce shell.
53mercury. I decided to go with my Flathead instead of the Fe. I had the big block sitting in it and it was just too far into the firewall... so I'm running my 47 59ab motor. Its merc cranked ported relieved cammed 2 97s. 47 truck open drive tranny and a 47 passenger banjo.newest thing on the truck is the f1 steering box! Should be driving by early summer! I'm leaning towards 47 Ford pheasant red body and black chassis. Gold motor and wheels with 41 Ford caps.

So true but what really gets me pissed I spent tons of money on tractor parts, cob webs, rubber rodents, I even prematurely rusted out good sheet metal. and then to have someone come up to my rat and say nice HOT ROD how rude
