heres my A tudor in the summer of 2002, i drove it everywhere and had a blast, but i sold it to build my 34 pu and someone changed it!! Alot!!
I see it's for sale now... how much? Hight price to pay for one that lost it's SOUL. It can still be saved though... again...
***us...is that a fibergl*** body? i think i saw it at chubbies this last summer. The nailhead looked nice...but it is sad...yours had sooo much more style and persona.. tok
If it's for sale now, obviously he's not happy with it! Shame... I hate selling cars to anyone local. When I'm done with them, I don't want to see them again. Case in point. Oh, well. You should take solace in the fact that you have taste and he doesn't...
wait a minute, ***us, from what i gather from this, that oxide beauty was yours, and that monster defiled it like that, that guy will go to hot rod dumb*** hell.
GeeZ, ***us, that is/was some cool rod! Tell us about the drivetrain from front to back. I guess the new owner didn't change that, did he?
What? He finished the roof, painted it decent. Left the nailhead, didn't fool around with too much that I can tell. Only thing that looks bad are the wheel and tire selection. That can be easily fixed.
well, it a 59 buick 364, wiend drag-star 6-twos intake(got 15 mpg), home-made headers,65 riv rad w/4 inches cut of each end(ran 180 degres all the time) with a th400 adapted tp it, an 8 inch rearend, duece mor drop, juice brakes, buick finned drums had a f100 box in it, 40 ford wheel little barstool looking seats 40 olds tailights, four-thertien was correct, i got half the car back, most of it went on my 34, I got back the headlights taillights intake and carbs headers dropped axle and wishbones, seats dash steer column and wheel, wheel and tires radiator grille insert, steering column drop, and some other misc stuff!!!! take a look at my pu and see if theres some stuff that looks the same!!

Yer "new" truck looks like a blast! I bet right after that pic was taken you went and did a bunch of donuts in a snow covered parking lot eh?
maybe!! that was taken at the end of last winter, i drove the **** out of it, des moines goodguys ,blue earth hamb chop, louisville nsra natnlns, and it was my only mode of transportation all summer it was a blast all while getting 17-18mpg!!
I'm with Fraz, the guy took a car that looked half-finished and finished it. I wouldn't have put those tires and wheels on it nor would I have flared the rockers, but all in all I like the finished look. I grew up drivin' POS's because we didn't have the money to paint our rods; today folks seem to be doing the same thing for different reasons...
so sorry if i stepped on your feet, it was just my opinion anyways, and what are those different reasons??? i heard rumors about how we have no talent and thats why we do it, or we dont know how to or lots others, well i think thats bs, i do it because i think its fun, and thats the whole aspect!
Your responce was probably to Charly and not to me. But wat I was trying to say was, Wouldn't it be funny if that guy was complaining on a different board, about what you did to "his" truck? I like it the way it is.( Dont sell it! )
***us, was that truck cruising around BTT50's? Im sure I saw it there and took pics of it. I think tim told me you made the box?
When I was just old enough to drive, sometime in the mid 60's, we built cars that never saw any other paint than primer, never had wheel covers, had the ****piest JC Whitney/Checker Auto/Pep Boys plastic seat covers, and a driveline that was held together with baling wire and a prayer. None of the guys I ran with ever started out building a POS, it just ended up that way because that's what we could afford (and still have some cash left over for gas and a date). Today it's in style to purposely build cars that look like the POS's that we built 40 years ago. Here's my point, nobody that I ran with or knew personally ever wanted to keep our cars in the state that they were currently in; we all had visons of slick paint jobs and tuck & roll naugahyde interiors. Unfortunately by the time we had the money to put into the cars we were married or in the service and we were buying station wagons and "reliable" family transportation. Today it's called "kulture", in my day it was practicality. Here's my point, have a good time with the nostalgia but remember where and how it started. When I see a car like the ones I owned and drove (like your rat rod) I feel a twinge of nostalgia...but then again, when I see that car finally in a state of "completion", I'm even happier because I see a dream that many of us had come to be fulfilled. It's hard to explain, I guess it's one of those things that you had to live...
Charlie, Thats pretty much what my Dad told me a few weeks ago when one of his pals asked me if I was ever going to "paint" my car. I agree with the dream fulfilled, but for a fair amount of guys unfinished is just that. None the less my car will be getting shiny & tuck and roll after the holidays.
Aside from the wheels and tires I cant see much wrong with it? I dont really dig the flames, but all in all I kinda like.
