I'm trying to figure out what year these parts are that I have. There is juice brakes on all 4 corners. Round back spindles on the front axle. The axle to me looks like 32-36. The rear axle I haven't a clue. The rear axle is upside down in the pics. on the bottom its stamped 9/40. Not sure on the wishbones Either. I'm new to hot rods and learning as I go. So I figured why not turn to the good people of the hamb for some help. I can only up load one pic at a time. So please be patient. Thanks for the replies in advance.

Round back Ford spindles are 37 - 41... square back are 42 - 48... they are the same except the later ones take a longer kingpin...
I'm sure this does not help... :)

  4. Kev: The 9 40 tells you the gear ratio in the rearend. Divide 40 by 9= 4.44, fairly common. Lets see some pics of the other stuff also, like where the torque tube bolts to the rearend. If the flange is round, it is likely 32-34. if it is squar-ish, it is 35 on up, best I recall. Tim

  13. Kev: If the front drums are wide five bolt pattern then it is 39. The axle could be late thirties or forties the way parts get switched around anymore who knows for sure. The rear appears to be late thirties as well. A close look at sway bar mount would tell. Tim
