Hot Rods Front axle I.D..

Can you tell me what I have here? as far as axle, spring and backing plate etc . Time to refresh and would be nice to know. .My friend Glens car

 

Model A axle ?

 

'37-'41 passenger car. Note short distance from kingpin to wishbone intersect.
Spindle is puzzling, (looks to be earlier, by its backing plate flange)
Backing plate looks to be '39-'41, by its eccentric bolts at bottoms of shoes

 

37-41 axle, maybe?

 

Looks like 37 and up to 41. Here's a close up of my axle (39 std) but I added the tube shock mount

 

It is 37-41, I have about a half dozen laying out back, I think I will sit in the corner now !!!!

 

To refresh, the spindles are what is important as you need the right length king pin. Looks to be 37-41 round back spindles with 40-41 backing plates (lower brake shoe mounts are adjustable)
