Just brainstorming and I was curious if the front end on my '55 Ranch Wagon is the same width as a '50 shoe box? I think it would be a really cool looking mix putting the shoe box front end on my wagon. Obviously I would have to change the fenders, grill, bumpers, etc. but just seeing if its possible without a ton of mod to original stuff Sorry, might be a dumb question but I figured this was the best place to ask.
I have seen the shoe box front end on a much later ford many years ago, but I cannot remember which model. It has been said that anything will fit anything if you can do enough body work. I agree with you that is would be really cool when done, but plan on a lot of fabrication. Sorry, can't help with dimensions.
Yeah that's what I was figuring. I'll do some more research and go from there. Might just start collecting parts and see what I can do. Of course I'll do a build thread!
There was a kit out to install front (and rear?) shoebox styled sheetmetal onto a 90's t-bird/cougar. I'm sure all the stuff was new and although looked like 50's, probably was formed to blend to the later car's sheetmetal.
Hi Earthbound, Go to search on the Hamb and type in 54custom line grill options and about the 4th picture down is a red 54 wagon with a 49 front end.
WOW, that is so VERY nice. I wonder where it is now! Personally, I like the 51 front end better than the 49 or 50.
