i have a good friend who is slowly collecting parts to build an early style dragster with a flathead V8. he's just building it for fun and not necesarily to race it.

lets see some pics of he early style dragster from the 60s on back. front engine only stuff. i know there was some CRUDE stuff in the early days. lets see it all.

also, if anyone knows of any magazine articles from back in the day, or even books, that show plans or blue prints of "digger" frames then please let me know.

    let see em...

Ivo's twin engine dragster is my all time personal favorite drag car EVER!!! i'd love to build a clone someday just for grins. i'd sit in it in the garage and rev it up till the cops came [IMG]...

this is also, roughly, the style of chasis my buddy wants to use.

    Hey Kustombuilder,
I REALLY like those dragster too !!! The Pan Chopper I'm currently building is inspired by those raw, pure and wild diggers from the early 60's.They are sooo beautiful and compared to these, todays dragsters look like shit.

Check out wediditforlove.com.Many pics on there but I hope to see some more on here as well.

If you like Ivo's Red Bomb, then you need to find you
    a copy of Car Craft-Sept. 1960.
Great article. The twin is on the cover.
The chassis by the way was built by Kent Fuller.

Another mag ya gotta have is Car Craft-june 1960.
Good article and pics of most of the early frames.

Had this one in my shop for awhile.
Thankfully(?) I didn't have a chance to update the chassis and actually get it out on the track and blow my nuts off.

Mark Williams at markwilliams.com sells both blueprints and kits for front engine dragsters. You might find a book, Hot Rod Chassis Construction, that has been mentioned on this forum before.

Here is a web site that has a bunch of early rail cars. They want you to join or some such shit, but there are a lot of free pictures there, including some Fuel Alterds. I just freeloaded cause I'm cheap/broke [IMG] Gene

You just HAVE to love a chain driven blower...or two.
As an aside, I read in Hot Rod that EJ Potter used chains rated for 25hp on his murder cycles, so it must be true.
