Hell hath now fury like the sound of the residents of Tim Conder's garage at full song...

Any news on that? I want to see 'em RUN!

    [/ QUOTE ]

I've been in touch w/ Tim quite a bit lately. Rails are really close...if not there. Right now they're finishing up the tow cars.

It's taken some time to get things going because of a passionate stance against "big" backing (i.e. he has refused corporate sponsorship). Man, I don't know how he's making it happen...but he is and that's so, so rad!

    More to come shortly.

Awesome! I used to talk to him some, haven't seen any updates on the site though. Last I heard he was moving to california (I think?) and that was putting things on hold. I can't wait!! [IMG]

The following photos were shot at Dover Drag Strip in Wingdale New York in 1961. If you know anything about the cars please post a reply. Starting with a nice flathead powered car with coupes in the background.

[/ QUOTE ] S,R,C That is a tube frame that was a little too thin, and they added fish plate. That same car is sitting outside up in New Hampshire about a mile from New England Dragway

Here is the 63 PHR write up on Fran Galvin's rail. It was one of the cleanest New England cars. Last I heard he was living in Maryland and still had his trophys....The car also ran Orange Ma./Conn./Long Island/Charlestown RI/Sanford Me.and the 63 Nats in Smithfield Tx.
Sorry about the size - its the only was I could get readable text....

Steve, Welcome to the HAMB! Thanks for posting that feature, great to get information on the photos I posted. NOTE: The rear trumpets on that car have lightening holes drilled in them. This was a common feature on early '60's rails.Rear has a quickchange with a scattersheild over it.

"Alley Oop" today, the easy and fun part is finished, now I have to assemble the 327 Chevy and rebuilt the ALGON injectors.

[/ QUOTE ] Near lane is The McGonagle Bros. this car also ran a T body, they were part of The 99 Racing team from Belmont Mass. in the other lane it looks like the old No-Mads car from Boston repowered with a Chevy.
