1st dragster in the NW. 136 mph. 7/4/ 52. No ET clocks.


NW champ. 7/5/54. 139 mph. Shelton, Wa. No ET clocks. Don Jensen.

 

Daddys Auto Body car built by Burbank High autoshop kids at Daddys Auto Body in Burbank, also Kent Fullers first dragster chassis.

 

Scotty's Muffler Service Ardun-powered 200 MPH lakester at Colton's opening day (1952?).
(Sorry, I know it's not a front-engine, but it's still cool.)

Don't get me wrong, I like looking at pics of old dragsters just as much as the next person, but to post pics with no information on the builder or region or any other pertinent backstory makes me feel cheated. I can go to google to skim hundreds of pics and drop them in this thread, but that doesn't contribute to history.
Post the backstory with a pic. It will make that photo more interesting.

 

@nobrakesneeded Good point. Most of these pictures I get from Facebook page galleries, like the one's run by @296ardun, and it's hard to remember the information on each car but maybe I will post them one at a time and cut and past the info with them.
