Technical Front I Beam Axle 40 Ford Coupe

Any one running a Pete Jakes 1105A axle in their 40 ford would like to see pictures of how the car sets and wheel and tire size i think its 46 king pin to king pin 4 inch drop uses your stock bones . Looking 4-5 drop on a coupe thanks

 

You would also need to know the specifics of the spring. On a 40 you can do a lot of lowering with the spring.

 

Yes thanks spring is important looking at 4 inch drop or 5 and when you go with a deep drop like that will it change your caster as well do you have to moify your wishbones as well

 

Wouldn’t the drop help get a little more caster which is good?

 

You will have to spilt your wishbones, or use 36 wishbones I believe.

 

My 40 coupe has that axle and a Posie reversed eye low spring, Unknown tube shock kit and an anti roll bar. And for some strange reason split 46-48 bones? Rides good and has plenty of turning room. It sits a little higher than a lot of guys like but out here in flyover country it's just fine. It was originally built by a 40 Ford guy in the Sacramento are. I rescued it an brought it to Nebraska where we went completely thru it doing lots of updates with OleScrounger as my tutor.
