guys need front shocks and i have been to the monroe site and they only list rears. rare parts shows them at $210 each! they are 14.5" extended 9" collapsed stud on top, cross bar on bottom any ideas or something close? $420 for shocks is nuts! thanks.
77 monte carlo front shocks, push the "T" bar out of the bottom mount.. May need to drill out the bushing to a larger size.
Like valves and valve springs it is sometimes easier to go to the dimensional catalogue and see what is close enough to work.
thanks so far! wish someone had site to add dimensions and mounting data, going through catalog is a chore.
check out www.forwardlook.net. If it has the horizontal tube @ the bottom for a mount you can use shocks for Mopars later in the 60s( they had wider frame brackets) & just narrow the tube. I used KYB KG4507 on the front of my '60. If it's the loop @ the bottom type there's a Corvette one that can be used after opening up the hole in the bottom loop, it's mentioned on thread @ FW.
Go to " http://www.monroe.com/en-US/ " and then "catalogues" and then "mounting and length sheets". Gives you the lengths and top and bottom mount styles and model number. Takes a bit of looking to find something close to what you need. Gabriel has model info on their site. Rock Auto etc can be used to reference vehicle and part/model numbers. Canuck
