Doing my 55 Chevy again and after dipping frame and adding CPP tube control arms the front spring I had on this car since 1979 will not work. They go in but they have an arc so bad the shock will not go in.Hits the inside of spring.I have bought a new set of 55 springs a shorter by 1 coil.I haave tried removing the arms and springs about 4 different times. The frame is a roller with complete drive train in.I have been told by CPP after the body is on it will settle down.I even put it under my 4 post with a car on it and let the weight on the frame and it didn't chang,Thanks for help trying to solve this problem

Are the new A arms putting a more severe angle on the bottom of the spring?

A picture would help but I imagine your car is sitting so high that the bottom arm is so far from parallel with the frame’s spring seat that it’s causing that bend in the spring. I think they’re right put the body on and go from there.

Check to see if the top of the springs are actually in the upper frame pocket. Seen this on several occasions. People don't always get the top of the springs properly placed into the pockets and it causes all kinds of problems...

these are new CPP arms.I looked at another 55 a few minutes ago and the angle that those lower tubular arms spring pocket was at a different angle. But they had coil overs.I don't want to put coil overs on this car.Looks like the angle of the spring plate need to be a different angle for factory springs,Have a pic on my phone but don;t know how to send it to my computer. Will keep trying to do that. Thanks for some help

Log into the HAMB from your phone and upload the photo there. Easier than a computer.
