Front spring drop???

I was wondering when I put the weight of the car and engine on the front spring what kind of drop should I expect? its a 1931 sedan with a 354 hemi, it is a multi leaf spring.

I wondered the same when I built my model a, so I measured before and after I dropped the 305/350 into it. The exact drop was 1 1/4" ---that was using a new spring with all the leaves and reversed eyes.--- Brian

 

Plus honestly, different manufactuers seem to drop differently. small block 23 with an MAS spring took the spring damn near flat, same setup (both on a 26" spring) from Speedway was only about 1.25".
