A group of us Houston/Austin folks are heading back home from Big Bend tomorrow (Sunday 7/29) via Ft Davis, and we got a 33 roadster running on a loaner spare. He blew a 235/15 Michelin radial today outside Presidio and we have limped it to Ft Davis... we need to find a replacement tire for that drive home.

Anybody know a tire guy avail on a Sunday 7/29 in the Ft Davis/Stockton Texas area????

Anyone? Tires in Fort Stockton TX... Sunday?

  3. Blake, you're probably sol. Ft Stockton used to have nothing but DQ ON SUNDAY. Probably need to head toward Odessa, its only 90 miles and if you cut thru midland san angelo brady etc not much difference in miles or time total. Tell DW If he's with you to Lucky and he can get you to anyone quick. Good luck, Doyle.

  5. If DW isn't with you and you want to head for Odessa, I'll see about setting things up for you so you don't have to waste time.

DW ain't with us. Doyle, and the gang is hoping to get the busted tire off the rim at the very least so se can get the sheel back to Houston in the roadster. We could use the spare to get him back to Houston but would prefer a real fix if it's available.

  7. Okay. Try Wiest tire in FS. 432-336-3314. Don't know if they are open Sunday. That's the only hope I know of for you. Good luck.

  8. There are some places in Ozona when you get there, I am assuming you are going on I 10 .

Oh well... we tried. Got the original tire broken down in Ft Stockton... wheel went into the roadster trunk and the tire went into the trash... ready to roll home on the loaner spare. Then, outside Ozona, the other rear tire blew! Pulled another loaner spare... roadside wheel swap... and the roadster made it back to Austin in need of two new rear tires and some minor fender R&R.
