Anyone know of a screw in extension that I could splice a rubber hose in the middle ?
I need to move the gas cap up and over, I see weld on extensions but I'm not welding on a gas tank.
Not sure if I could hole saw a gas cap then weld the extension onto that maybe ???

Looks to be 34 ish gas tank? ,
You can purge pump a gas in tank to weld , I think I seen CO2 ? when weldig up Nitro gas tanks & other's ,

The extension is no big deal to make,
but what do you mean by move it over?smaller diameter or actually move it .500 or 1.000 inch or So?

    A removable extension acting/working like a gas cap .
Piece of copper Tube or other
    Solder, make washer ,
Ears , same with opening for gas cap,

Maybe not welding on the tank filler but what about welding up a gas cap with an extension?

How much length are you looking for? Tri 5s have extensions.

It's always unnerving welding on a gas tank. You're striking the first arc just waiting for the thing to explode in your face. Even when you take all the precautions in the world, it's still an ***-puckering experience.

  11. This is the answer.... Buy a new cap, weld or braze the center to the outer part, then drill out the center. Weld your extension on the top. Install with the new gasket and I'd use some sort of fuel-proof sealer.

I did this for my avatar, but it already had a removeable extension. But it was too far down in the fender with the modern nozzles and I spilled some gas almost every time I filled it. I cut a filler neck off a dead tank I had, cut off the existing cap flange and brazed 2.5" of the other fill neck to it. I used brazing as it's easier to get a weld with no pinholes for no leaking. Problem solved!

If you get one of those old fashioned electric soldering irons you can solder a gas tank with gas in it, as long as the gas is below where you are soldering. I have done it many times with no problems as there is no open flame.

I have a lot of respect for guys who can solder well. When I try it always ends up with me throwing a huge tantrum. Don’t bother giving me tips as Ive watched numerous videos on how to do it and always ends in frustration. Gotta know your limitations.

A good clear photo or two of what you are attempting to do with a diagram of the needed offset would go a long way in getting good solid answers rather than ******** answers. Is there enough neck on the tank to be able to put a hose on safely after you cut the neck a couple of inches from the tank?

This is just for show and tell but you can find hoses that "may" have the bend (s) that you need to get things lined up. One would just have to get into the filler neck hose book and see what they can find.
The second one is what showed up in a search. That shows plenty of bend options as long as the diameter is right.

Now about those photos showing us exactly what you are attempting. Screenshot (194).png Screenshot (195).png

You can See that the Female is stamped part of tank , there is No Neck .
Pretty near flush mount when cap installed .
