I looked in other threads and didn't find an answer. 51 Chevy fuel gauge, running through a Runtz 12v to 6v reducer. Has been wirking fine for a year. Noticed needle started bouncing, then it shot up and buried needle on full. Needle goes straight to past full once key is switched on, slowly goes past empty once keyed off. Checked ground it's ok. I'm not the best at electrical so any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Sounds like sender in tank is kaput. Disconnect sender wire to gauge and ground. Needle should move to full or empty and when you open should go the other direction. If gauge moves sender is bad

I'm thinking sending unit may be shot or stuck. I'd check the ground to the sending unit as well
