1952-59 Ford Fuel gauges

What year(s) fuel Gauges are interchangeable? Do Mercury gauges work with the for dash? Thanks.

 

Maybe more info is needed here,why do you want to change? are you upgrading to 12 volts?

 

I have swapped to 12 volts, but I have a voltage reducer to maintain the stock gauge. My fuel gauge is bad and I need a new one. I'm having trouble finding one for less than $150 and was hoping other years might fit.

BTW, is your sending unit stock??

 

I have not pulled the sending unit, but the top looks stock. The gauge was working, but I pulled the gauge panel to replace the wiring and the gauge just fell apart when I touched it.
