Hey guys I’m installing a new Edelbrock carb to my stock ‘63 Impala. The fuel line is a threaded metal line. What do I need to install it into the new carb since it doesn’t have threads on the inlet?
It looks like you need to take the large fitting out of the old carb and install it in place of the hose fitting on the new carb.
If two main threads are different & no adapter around with the inverted female for new carb , you can take ****** fitting out Cut off ****** get a Inverted female fitting with pipe male threads Tap , Or solder the inverted fitting to the one that you cut ****** off. Or use rubber hose from ****** To inverted fitting just slide the tube nut up on hard line towards the radiator Have 2 - 4 clamps
Original Rochester line enters to the front of the carburetor while the Edelbrock feeds on the side, you could buy a female inverted flair to 3/8 hose fitting to come off the original line, then add a rubber fuel line hose and filter like The Chevy Pope suggested. If you ever want to back to original, you haven't cut it up
The new carb has the fuel going into the right side vs the front for the old carb. The metal line isn’t long enough
You could use the Edelbrock banjo fitting, which will give you a close 90 degree turn towards the front of the engine and connect it to the existing metal tubing with 2 hose clamps.
