getting ready to run fuel lines on a hot rod , couple of questions should the lines be 3/8 hard lines or?
Also where can I purchase solid fuel line? I am finding coils of aluminum tubing but not Kean on that.
    Engine is a 383
    Located in oc/La
    Thanks

  2. Still buy straight pieces at auto parts stores.Bend to fit.Check Summit,or Jegs for that Nico-copper line that comes in a roll.Run 3/8 at least to the pump.IF you use any rubber buy fuel injection hose, and keep it short.Modern standard rubber fuel hose is crap, and will split, and leak.

  3. X2 on the injection rated hose.
I used 3/8 galvanized brake line. No issues in 4 years. I wouldn’t have an issue with aluminum. Just anchor it to the frame well
I had a copper line split and spray fuel on an exhaust manifold once.
    Got lucky.

3/8” Steel tubing or NiCopp will work the best. Copper is for household plumbing and has no place on a vehicle. (MPO)
I purchase rolls of NiCopp from NAPA.

Stainless steel braided Teflon..! -6 is close to 3/8" dia.
No gas, alcohol, or anything else will harm it. Will last the cars lifetime, even longer. Everything else will corrode depending on how much alcohol the government puts into the gas.
I've done it to one of my cars, will be doing the same to my other car when I get to putting the new engine it.
Stainless steel end fittings used to be made, now it's plated steel fittings.

One less thing to worry about.

Plumbed the entire fuel system in my VW with AN-6, ordered it made to the lengths I needed from McMaster-Carr with brass fittings. Way overkill for my application, but it will last forever.

  8. X2 for NiCopp. Wonderful stuff that the European car manufacturers have been using for years.

The flexible braided stainless stuff gets STIFF after a couple years , doesn't seem to affect the performance , its just stiff !

Something you need to consider is how you will make the needed bends and connections. The ni comp will be the easiest to route if you don't have a decent bender. Then you need to be able to connect it. There are several previous threads on here where you can find good pictures and info on whats available for connections.
