Does anybody know if the eBay regulators are any good? I haven't determined if I'm going to run a four barrel (5-7 PSI) or three 94s (1.5 PSI) on my 265 CI Flathead build so I want to cover 1.5 to 7 PSI. These 0-140 units with a gauge are tempting but I don't know how they will hold at that low range. I am using a ford F150 frame mounted pump from an injected 302 on my run in stand. Don't know how much it puts out but when I mocked it up it pegged my 0-15 Fuel Pressure gauge and blew the hose off!! So I wonder if one of these will hold that pump it at 1.5PSI.. http://www.ebay.com/itm/FUEL-PRESSU...ash=item35e873f914:g:wIgAAOSwWf9Zn4Q~&vxp=mtr Any help appreciated !!
I wouldn't run a efi fuel pump on any carb. That pump is probably at least 45 psi. May be higher. Get a regular carburetor pump and then run a standard 9 psi down regulator and be done with it. Save yourself a lot of trouble....
As stated, choose a quality brand regulator and lower PSI pump specific for carburetors. It may cost a little more now however it will pay for itself in no time when you are driving the car and not stuck on the side of the road cursing that so called good deal.
If your blowing the hose off the pump you don't need a regulator, you need a byp*** system. Actually you have the wrong pump. Some guys that used to work for Holley, started their own business, made one hat looks like the Holley, but runs about 25 bucks...can't remember the name...but it worked fine for my Flathead for a few years before I sold it.
