Bought an after market sending unit with three wires. One Black, One Gray, One Purple. No schematic was with the unit when it arrived. It originally was for a 87-90 jeep wrangler. So anyway, black goes to ground, purple goes to fuel guage, and gray goes too???

Anyone have an answer to my problem?

Should go to a switch (like the ignition switch) 12v source.

thanks, i thought maybe it was to be grounded also. But I'll hook it up tomorrow and see.

Yeah the low fuel light was also a possibility. Seeing it's in a Custom setup now, I'm not running low fuel light. The gauge has a 12v connection, so I'm ***uming that is enough to make the sending unit work?

Not so good with the electrical issues.

Ya, one 12v hook up is all you need if you are not running a low fuel light then I would think that you do not need to hook the gray wire up.
